2025/26 Thierno Barry

Its the headed chances that looked way off. The rest I like. Problem is those headed chances are important, Per arent they? Really hoping the training ground can resolve this.

Alcaraz could have played him in when he took a shot instead, Armstrong also didn’t square for a tap in. There was another one where Barry and Alcaraz went for the same ball when free. That was just in the first half he could have had three goals.

His movement is very good, the link up play is very good, he just needs a goal and then he’ll be motoring.
I got the impression he was just trying to hard. Needs a goal to settle him down & give him a bit of confidence.

Personally i would be starting Beto. Think he does a bit more work (Though not a great 1st game or pre season). Not Seeing nothing special so far about why so many seem to be raving about Barry myself. Though we 100% need another forward
Just what have seen in the two games just his movment and hold up play has been better imo and has helped us create chances. I prefer him to beto imo think will just be time and will click when gets that first goal and more training so players get to kno eachother better.

With Beto on the pitch Ndiaye, Garner and Charlie don’t get to score their goals.
His run to the near post frees up the space for Ndiaye.
His control and ability to pick the right pass allows the ball to get to Garner.
His pass round the corner to Armstrong allows the lay back to Charlie.
He should have got a goal last night but it’s a shame the people around him didn’t make such good decisions as he does.

Not sure any coaching fixes fundamentals for a player in their 20s.

You're trying too hard here to make the glass look half full. Some of the above is or should be standard for any competent striker in the Prem. Agree a goal will do him good though and then see.

I seem to disagree with most in this feed. I've seen enough already. Doesn't seem to be able to do anything right. headers the ball like his got a 50p head, can't hold the ball up, can't run with the ball, can't break the line as he looks like his running in custard. I'm i completely wrong?
Not completely as some of the words were spelt correctly.
Critique wise, completely wrong.

Ancelloti with DCL.

I’m concerned with some of his headed efforts too, but he had plenty of headed goals prior to us signing him.

He’s also two footed, has quick feet for his size, and tries to make things happen with 1 or 2 touches. I imagine the players around him aren’t used to seeing that in our strikers.

Don't understand the hate on this lad. Our fan base is going to destroy him like Moise Keane. Was unlucky and could've scored a header if he got over it more, played a key role NDiaye goal on the weekend. He does a lot of unselfish work dragging centre backs out of position. Solid full debut.

He's had a rapid rise, in less than three years he's gone from France, to Switzerland, to Spain and he's now here in Liverpool. Let the young lad settle and find his feet and he will be a great striker for us.

If ancelotti had coached DCL to be better then he would have remained better after ancelotti had left, unless he’d had his memory wiped. Ancelotti set the team up to make the most of DCL and he had a short run of good goalscoring form, that’s not even close to being the same thing,

Also when we get the squad of players DM wants at the end of the window NDiaye can play the no 9 role he did it for Sheffield United he scored loads - plus if you look across the park they do not have a bustling no 9 - it would just give us more variations upfront v certain teams ....
