Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We are not done yet, 3 more players i reckon. A right back, a defensive midfielder and possibly another striker. With Chermiti going on loan, we are an injury away from disaster because Barry still needs time to adapt and Beto has never been prolific. Been very poor so far this season actually bar a tap in against lower league opposition. One of these will be our remaining loan slot.
Other than that lower league opposition we’ve only played one game and Beto has only played about 60 minutes

I’ll have a word with Dan mate

Kilbane came to us from the Championship as well I think.

There’s actually loads, when you think about it.

Speaking of Moyes elsewhere, Bowen is another one.
Wasn’t Kilbane another signed-when-relegated player?

I’ve done too much Wikipedia cross referencing of players signing for Everton and their prior club’s league at the time for one night…

Re: Championship quality

It all just depends on the player. Some have a higher ceiling and can play at PL level. Not one purchase is a guarantee (apart from our lovely Jack shexy calves)

Well bugger me, I always thought Bowen had been at West Ham all of his life. Why on earth hasn't he left yet

He was certainly a diamond Moyes spotted in the rough, either way.

I get the feeling he’s not so up for that sort of thing this go around - but I’ll leave the door open to the idea it could still happen while the window is open.

I think it’s harder mate, City, Chelsea, Spurs hoover up anything with sniff of talent underage and if someone does beak through now Championship clubs want fees of 10s of millions.

That said some of the links like Hackney and the young full back at Norwich show he still may want to sniff them out.

I suspect that Moyes will want to leave a legacy this time round, that surpasses his previous tenure.

He will no doubt have in mind, that he doesn’t have the same timescale, fan and owner patience as he had last time. Not least because of Father Time’s ticking clock.

I believe that the above will only serve to drive his ambition, of where he can take us and what he can achieve.
