Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

McNeil would need replacing if he left and I can't imagine that we'd get enough for him to make that a particularly easy thing to do.
Baffles me that people want him to leave this summer. He's been one of the few players that has done well under both Dyche and Moyes. Never complains. He's not the most glamorous attacker but he's useful and we should only be letting him leave if there is a too good to refuse offer which I really doubt will happen.

….also decent set-piece delivery, we missed that when he was out for so long last season.

The only reason I can think to get rid of McNeil is for the number of blues I hear who still call him O’Neil. Hes only been here 3 years, lads.
Everton supporters are emotional and sentimental beings , so I think they just naturally connect him to Dyche which was deemed as an archaic relic of the past , also Everton fans have a tendency to attach unreal expectations even on squad players despite the club's underwhelming recent history

Aye maybe, and probs won’t spend any money there after Barry. I just want a striker that’s got a much cleaner touch.
re Beto, said last season there'd been a change in him, going back many years there was a big thing made where Colin Jackson was helping Linford Christie with his sprint starts out of the blocks. What we got was a "Go on the B of the Bang" ethos.

I believe realising there is little to no composure in him, he's been told to go at goal as quick as possible, almost everything is snatched at, when he gets lucky he spoons a finish in, or wrong foots a keeper because he's so unorthodox, that or a deflection. He's never going to be Yakubu silky and composed, knowing the chance is there and executing. It's always going to be flying by the seat of his pants, hoping on a chance, have a go, be the hero, hope for the best.

Fortunately we've improved drastically the midfield behind him, so they'll get goals and they'll also make a lot more chances for him to snatch at.

One game he'll score 4, then go a couple of games not even getting close. The very definition of inconsistent.

I think it's much more that people can't get their head round the idea of a squad and so think anyone who isn't a nailed on starter can be sold.
