Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The two main areas needed now are both for this season and the future, DM and RB.

Gueye and Tarks are 36 & 33 respectively, one coming back from his first serious injury of his career as well.

Gueyes kegs could go at any point this season - should be the tear we try to phase him out and a good quality DM is the only way we can. Love him but can't try to build a side to push on the next few years were it falls apart when your 36 yo energizer bunny goes ACON or goes off form or ultimately hits the wall.

Tarks should be looking at O'Brien pushing him and maybe taking over in the near future, like with Gueye I love Tarks but he's 33yo now and in the last year of contract - he's also second highest earner at the club. Only way we can do that is by bringing in a quality right sided player who can free up O'Brien to play CB.

Happy to wait till Monday as long as we get the minimum business RB and DCM done. Not expecting anything till then. Moyes has been consistent in wanting more players in and I expect he will reiterate that at the presser tomorrow.

Would be very nice to get a young, high potential DM in but the "6 for 2 positions" might be a bit optimistic. I think Armstrong and Tim are not quite ready yet to see as full blown options. Especially since Gana is off to AFCON it might be worthwhile to get a quality loan option for the DM. An experienced loanie would help us out this year without interfering with the development of the talented youngsters. And next year invest heavy on a DM to fade Gana out.

Irogegbunam and Armstrong will only be ready when they show theyre ready. I think if we use both substantially this season then end of the season they should have shown theyre ready for next season. To hit the ground running.

If we sign someone that leaves 6 midfielders for 2 positions. What other clubs have so many?

Hector Fort or another similar profile player would be ideal.

This season if the younger players can step up then next season we should reap massive benefits.

That right back area is an immediate need to bring in a player. Not sure theres anything more immediate.
