Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I do wonder if we had a strategy to bring in the sort of technical players that we have, as opposed to quicker, more physical types. Or if the problems we had signing players has just dictated it.

We have a fair few socks down, stand with the ball, possession heavy players, but that’s never really been Moyes’ game.

I think with the profile of attackers we have behind the striker now, who want to come inside and link up instead of cross, we need a striker that can do that sort of thing as well. More a David Villa or Julian Alvarez type than anything else.
Options aren’t there on a free that’s for sure, just checked Transfermarkt and the available players are pants. It’d have to be a loan I’d imagine, can’t see that we would have funds for another perm signing unless we sacrifice other priority positions

I was on the fence about to loaning him but after that I'd be keeping him.

Moyes and the coaches see him in training everyday so will not be doubting his quality.

Just wondering if today's game was a test ro see how he would conduct himself over 90 minutes against lesser opposition..With extra time allowed on the ball, players who aren't quite ready notmallt end up in 2 minds and play the wrong ball or lose their concentration and get dispossessed too often.

Tonight I saw a young lad playing with complete confidence, was assured on the ball, got his assists and didn't look anything like an U21 player just making up the numbers before he is sent out on loan.

Decisions for Moysey to make for sure in the next few days

Aye maybe, and probs won’t spend any money there after Barry. I just want a striker that’s got a much cleaner touch.

I think we need to sign a striker with a first touch.
Barry has literally just demonstrated that among his best attributes is a quality first touch mate, surely? His 3 goal contributions in the last two games using said first touch would back this up.

If anything it’s an ability to make space in the box and clinical finishing that we are missing, at least for me
