2025/26 Thierno Barry

He's not the answer for this season. Cameo appearances, yes. Starting games and leading the line, no.

We have a conundrum with the striker situation again. No point having Grealish, Ndiaye, and Dibling with no proper threat up front. Neither Barry or Beto are the answer if we want to seriously improve our attacking metrics.

Yes, after tonight I'd say we don't have a first-choice striker. I mean, one of them will have to be, but neither of them are anywhere near good enough right now.

No idea what Moyes will do - sign an old experienced player (like Vardy) before the window shuts? Make do with what we have? Play a false nine (who?)?

It’s was only when watching the Brighton game over again I noticed that he actually did really well. Similar tonight. He is in and around a lot of the good things we do.

There is something there. He chastised himself when a long ball went through to the keeper first half; if he’d have anticipated/gambled, he knew he would have been in. Another time he should have had a simple ball played either side of the static CB and he’d was clean through but the pass was crap, he wasn’t happy.

But then Beto comes on, charges around snarling knocking people about, and he gets us up the pitch, unsettles their CBs and causes uncertainty. Gets his goal.

It’s an interesting battle as they are actually very different in the way they affect the game and those around them.

Must be another striker lined up if we are protecting Chermiti so as not to jeopardise his move away.

Was ok first half, snatched at everything 2nd half.

Definitely not 1st team ready for a PL side imo, but I think he'll get plenty of game time if we dont bring an alternative striker in as Beto is just so erratic in his decision making and hold up play that Barry will defo pick up games.

I think Barry is a useful focal point who is good at linking up play, but we might have to rely on the midfielders and wide players to actually put the ball in the net for now.

Where is this magical prolific striker people are looking for? You either develop one or buy one for 100m+. Someone like Muniz at Fulham is being quoted for 40m at 24 years old and has never scored double figures in the league.
Even Isak was bought for 70m euros after scoring 6, 17 and 9 league goals in his last 3 seasons with Real Sociedad.
As a team the new players are still trying to gel and working out how we create consistent chances, there hasn't been many if any obvious chances for our strikers atm.

Think people wrong saying he isnt ready because most of the team havent had enough time to get to kno how they all play esp barry. Think he will only get better has alot more to his game than beto is the number 1 cf at the club for me. Also would still be looking for another striker becuase feel need a different type
