Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If we could get Soucek for somewhere around 10m, I'd really have no issue with the signing. We've seen plenty of times that he is effective under Moyes

It's the potential price worries me more than signing him. I would imagine West Ham want a lot for him. We need to get away from paying larger fees over 10-15m for players 28-30 plus
He’s finished at a good level imo, he couldnt get near Chelsea on Friday
And it’s ok saying he gets us goals, but how many will he cost us. He will cost a lot of money, even at 10mil
He’s on 90k a week and will probably want a 3yr deal. It’s also not a position we’re desperate to fill unless Tim goes on Loan.

We need to get a number 6, if the club don’t think they can get one, maybe they keep garner and gana, for that role, though not perfect, but maybe that’s all
We can do this season. So maybe we go and get another box to box, but that can’t be soucek

Brilliant player. If you could get him for circa 15, happy days.

Everything Doucoure did but 10x better

Funnily enough Doucoure is miles ahead of him in certain categories, worryingly some of those are passing and progressing the ball.

Won't even mention the effect adding a player slower than McNeil to centre mid would have on this side. Or the fact Moyes will use him at times - probs my a lot as the number ten in a fellaini way, kicking out a player with actual ability from there.

He looked boss on Friday though, without him that 5 may have been 6 put past west ham.

15m quid and minimum of 90k per week for three years at least.

But hey leaving absolute yard dogs for other managers to deal with is the clubs MO in recent years.

Still need a right back and centre midfielder for this to be an adequate transfer window. Bolstering all areas of weakness is the number one priority and I’ve overlooked far too many transfer windows before where we haven’t addressed key problems just because it seemed at the time we did good business elsewhere.

No more papering over cracks.

He's only 30. Should be ok

Not quite sure you've linked the right players there. Similar level of talent though

We obviously need more players but we coped with the same numbers last season. Of outfield players we used last season we lost DCL, doucoure, young, Lindstrom, Harrison and broja. But we have gained Grealish, Dibling, Barry, aznou and kdh. I expect 1 or 2 more this week so I don't think it's a disaster numbers wise. I think they'll use JOB and Garner right back if we don't get anyone in. None of it's ideal but everything is headed the right way. No point asking for patience on here but I think it's been a good window

I get this post on the outside it sounds okay, but what about when we get injuries, suspensions and the African cup of nations. Definitely need a bigger squad mate, especially with the injuries we get.

Let's be honest, if we do sign a RB & no.6, its not been an adequate window, its been an unbelievable window from what the squad was the last few seasons

Won't disagree with that but my point was we coped last season so not the end of the world. No point signing players we don't want on 3 year contracts to make up numbers. Hopefully get more in this week. Fingers crossed. Yeah afcon will be a problem too but we can cope

While I’m not fussed either way with him, judging him this season on playing for West Ham v Chelsea is wrong. If you looked at us first half against Leeds you’d be writing off O’Brien, Garner, Dewsbury-Hall and Alcaraz straight away.
