2025/26 Seamus Coleman

I'm looking forward to seeing Seamus Coleman play again, so hoping he gets some game time against Mansfield Town.
Give it up he’s finished and one of my all time favourites but should never be on the pitch for game time. It’s poor he’s even on a playing contract and even poorer we haven’t had a replacement for him for at least a couple of seasons.

At this point, he’s part of the furniture…

I dunno about you, but I replace my furniture when it can’t do the job anymore

Time and time again experts keep saying how much Seamus brings to the club and how valuable he is to have around. Likewise at the match Seamus is probably the most universally popular of our players. If you were not so biased you'd accept the former, if you went to the match more you'd understand the latter.

Hopefully his first and last start this season (because that means we have done well with injuries and perhaps actually got in a new RB!)

Dunno what the issue is with him still being about and a part of the squad, even if he doesn’t play many games. We’ve had much worse players hang around too long, but this isn’t the case here.

We’ve had enough change - I’m happy that sheamo is there to get across what Everton is about and bring that with us while we move the whole club forward.

There are parts of our past we absolutely need to leave behind, but Coleman isnt one of them.

He can move into coaching next season.

More than happy for him to be at the club. I’ve never doubted his importance to the club. But he isn’t able to do the job of a player (ie being available and able to play regularly) and hasn’t for a few years.

I’ve got no biases about Coleman. He has been a key player for us for a long time and is a club legend. But he should have moved in to coaching already. Baines was also vitally important to us and is very popular with players etc and still is, even as a coach.

Not getting into the whole “I’m a better fan because I’ve been able to get a season ticket” argument. I go several home games a year and to some away games. Circumstances limit that, doesn’t make me less of a fan. Don’t be a bellend about that.

Seamus Oldman more like. Amirite?

I love the lad but I really don’t understand why he wasn’t moved to full-time coaching at least three seasons ago. He must have the best ROI of any player we’ve had, but he’s never been Bertie Vogts or Cafu, for all his hard work.

I reckon he’s got dirt on someone at the club. I bet he knows where the Arteta money is.
