He is in his prime years and he has been a starter for a few years now.

Yet he now finds himself arguably 4th choice for both LW (Ndiaye, Grealish, Alcaraz) and RW (Dibling, Ndiaye, Alcaraz) and probably even lower down for CAM (with all the above mentioned likely moved around to there if needed along with KDH and Tim ahead of him there as well).

He has good stats for goals/assists. But Moyes doesn’t seem to fancy him.

Over a full season McNeill will get to play in most games.
I can't see him being sold for a few reasons....
He is a good player that can cover a few positions.
Even with the new signings we still don't have a big squad and can't afford to let players go that are likely to contribute in a meaningful way over the season.
Because there are so many new faces in the squad it is important to have as many members who are settled and familiar with the club.

However, depending on how the season goes next summer may be different.

He busted out and ultimately has been a flop mate. Decent start but fell out of favour, played around 50 times but more sub appearances than starts. Started both games this season on the bench too.

That said, the defensive mistakes are a massive concern, we were doing the same in pre season so I’m hoping it’s just some rustiness we need to shake off still

Also when Mitoma hits the bar as he flicks it up it looks like it hits his hand. McNeil should have scored too.

Keller Fiisher looked awful at the weekend. Would substitute his place in that list for Van Ewijk all day long and now his move to Wolfsburg has collapsed. For the 10M he was supposedly going there for I’d be all over that.

Agree to disagree on Soucek vs Doucoure and even if I didn't, I think we can do a lot better


Thankfully, although I have worked with single-minded determinación to.pickle my every brain cell for 40nyears, I'd rather we use up our valuable resources on a RB, commanding DM, and a slotter. And I still think we could do with a demon paceman for the counter attack.

When we have all those covered and we still need that Czech sloth, we can indulge Davey.
