Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I will save you some time.

I have been very quiet with regard to transfer dealings.

Just came on to mostly see if rumours have been transformed to confirmations.

Where I did come short was Michael Keane who I thought would cost us valuable points at the beginning of the season due to Moyes being forced to start him, but even that has pleasant surprise thus far.

So have a blessed day and good health to you.
I can help too...I was mad after the Leeds game and upset with apparent lack of anything in the days following. On Sunday I thoroughly enjoyed our goals and was glad to see we got a little luck for once. I am happier this week. Figure out which list I need to go on:) Oh lastly, havent wet the bed in the last 50 years that I can recall:)

The only real chance that they should have scored from was the terrible miss from Wellbeck. Mitoma handled the ball not once, but TWICE before hitting the bar, if that had gone in you’d hope VAR would have looked at that and chalked it off!

The second was a shot that wouldn’t have troubled Pickford until it took a wicked deflection and struck the post, and the penalty wasn’t a great chance and was harsh to have been awarded.
All true.

But we still got lucky and they still had phases where they had us with pace. It’s okay to think we deserved the win (we did) but there are still real weaknesses that clubs like Brighton are going to be able to exploit.

That said, we are clearly stronger than last season.

The promoted teams looked pretty good and I think 1 or 2 will stay up based on 2 weeks of the season.

In my opinion, only West Ham and Wolves really look worse this season (so far).

Funnily enough the rangers fans are backing him over Martin which speaks volumes about what they think of Russell Martin.

The lads a great finisher but hasn’t got much else to his game, Tosun Mk2. He is young and can be coached into becoming a great player.

But when you refuse to play well it’s then difficult for the lad as he believes Rangers have overpriced him and he wants to move but refuse to play !?

Not sure about that
Cant believe the manager came out like that though...such a risky move.

Early season performances are rarely much of a form guide but the points still count the same. It would be big if we can pick up 3 more at Wolves. A performance would be nice but points would be nicer. Ultimately any transfer business we can do will probably be more importantly still seen over the whole season.
I'm just happy that we've come away with that morale-boosting win on Sunday. Usually I can't wait for the first international break to roll around - but I reckon we've got a really good shot at beating Wolves at their place over the weekend (but even if we don't, then we still have that August win on the board at least and it isn't all doom-and-gloom for once).

Agree. At this stage I care more about points on the board. We have had a big revamp of the squad and I expect 2 or 3 more players in by the end of the window so it's expected that it will take a couple of months until we are fully up to speed and we can see exactly how this squad will shape up tactically and performance wise.

It was very reminiscent of the victories we got last season. We don’t control games and give up possession in just about every game. Whether that is tactics and purposeful, I’ve no idea.

Here's my issue, he's on 90k pw so we will have to at least match that, he looks on the slide physically. He plays DM yet is a rubbish defensive player - and if he arrived then that's "the DM sorted" when we will still have a huge weakness there.

Throw in his passing stats are bad yet he also ranks really poor in progressive passing - meaning he's REALLY bad at passing the ball in a team which is now loaded with players who id we get them it can run at defences.

He also would come in as a starter displacing likely Gueye or Garner (most likely Garner)

Soucek is not a DM. I also highly doubt he will come here to start. He is a moyes player so maybe I'm wrong here. But for me Garner, KDH, Gueye and Alcaraz would all be ahead of him. He's a different profile to all of those though, much more in the vein of doucoure or fellaini.

If we needed a plan b, he COULD be a useful one. I'm still not convinced personally. But he's not a defensive midfielder.
