Honestly, I thought we would be scrambling in the last two days of the window for players of the ilk of KDH, Grealish and Dibling.

Absolutely ecstatic that all of those are done and now we are looking at two or three more to boost the squad.

Can't remember the last time I was this relaxed going into the last week of the window.

The snobery about some players is mental.

Soucek is twice the player Singara is.....Singara is bang average.

I've been hearing the new wave of online "scouts" rave about SIngara for years now....and less than 3 years younger than Soucek...he has done nothing.

Magassa - Very young, so we just dont know.

I'd have had Soucek a few years back, 100%. He was already slow and is slowing. He would cost us decent money and wages. It's one thing to break those structures for an older player when it's one the calibre of Grealish. It's another entirely when it is a Soucek.

We will soon hit a brick wall financially and struggle to build again - as Villa, Newcastle etc are finding- so we shouldn't spaff money on a player like Soucek. Should be smart investments.

I still think we will sign 4-5 more.

We should be looking at utility players that cover all five positions.

Perhaps Moyes wants Soucek because he’s a known quantity and a steady signing amongst a Summer of unproven purchases.

Exactly this, he's dependable and fills an immediate need in the squad.

Very average passing but simply unreal ball-winning. Can go past a man too. Just the 15 years younger!

If I was playing footy manager with Everton I'd get this guy and Hackney for a combined ~35m and have them slowly take over from Gana and Garner.

I have no idea what that sideways map of Iberia means.

Being disingenuous there and simplifying beyond belief. It is not Moyes vs Potter. It is Moyes vs West Ham's recruitment team.

It also suggests that Moyes is never wrong and he has been, constantly. Even with us, when his recruitment record was far better than it has been since.

Soucek is one to avoid. £5m or less would be fine.

I'm hoping three, but if we got RB and CDM then I'd be very happy. A forward would be the icing on what would then look like a very tasty cake.

There should be some scope to do loans in particular.

Looking forward to the randomness of the day with the expectation we'll be busy. I dislike the transfer window in general but the craziness of TDD can be quite fun if you're doing business and seeing what possibilities suddenly might come from nowhere.

It appears to be an apt time to do a review of poster behaviour this summer and ask if there were any learning points from those who perhaps over reacted and assured us of future and doom in the transfer market. Maybe we can cite the examples of these posts in such a thread? In the interest of continual improvement for the good of our forum.

Basically just what I said really. He already does the things Gana does (win the ball at an elite level) but has room to grow in the passing department.

Excuse me but I am still losing my mind over adding a midfielder and a right back. Do not erase me and those like me
