SKY Coverage

I watched the coverage. I was surprised as Sky, and commentator Gary Weavered seemed to big us up. Felt it was very fair coverage. I guess it would have been different if we were playing one of the 6 but talked a lot about our history and we are a big club. We could be the Sky 7th team. Was helped by fact the stadium looked amazing.
Totally blowing Anfield out of the city as the number 1 stadium.
Surely you mean Anfield is now stadium number 3 now? The Old Lady still stands.

There are a lot of reasons to bash Sky and the media, but everything I've seen has been complimentary about how the stadium looked and if anything was pro-Everton in that they seemed pleased we marked the occasion with a win.

If you're blaming them for pointing out we rode our luck first half, then what game were you watching? Because we did, massively.

Stop with the paranoia and victim mentality, it's embarrassing.

The only problem I had today with Sky was that they went to show both goals in Palace v Forest whilst our ball was in play, the second time during a Brighton attack!? Awful work from the director of photography, they need to pack that in.

…other than that, no issue, even spitty was very complimentary and everyone was buzzing on the new ground.

Yeah I'm not a fan of that. Also when they show the players getting off the coach for the following game, then the line-up across the bottom of the screen. I'm watching THIS game, wait until full time before showing crap about the next.

Where you getting they were much better than us overall?! I thought they offered very little and we were comfortable for large spells of the game.
Post and crossbar hit, should have scored against Pickford but he smothered it, penalty. A draw wouldn't have been unfair but then I thought the last game v Leeds a draw would have been the fair result. That's football.

Thought they did OK to be honest. Been heavy criticism over the last decade on how expensive it is etc... they are trying new stuff. With streaming services on the rise they need to do something.

I think we were very sloppy at the back and handed them a few very good chances. Tarks made two really bad mistakes in the first half that could have turned the game on its head. When you get that many great chances to score it can make your performance seem better than it actually was overall.

Yep, that was awful.

They gave us one panoramic view of the city of Liverpool from the stadium in 3 hours covering the pre-game and game itself.

How do you manage that? Scores of shots of the stadium backgrounded by sewage works and cranes and the dock road like.

Two things they had to get in: the Mersey (which they never stopped talking about but never actually showed more than once) and the city skyline.

That's how easy it was to fully and appropriately cover that stadium opening yesterday and they either wilfully or stupidly overlooked them.
