SKY Coverage

The pundits/presenters on show were a bit weaker that the normal super Sunday team. If it was united vs Liverpool, no chance you'll see that team...everything was a bit amateurish to me, not sure if it is sky saving money, or because it was a bank Holiday weekend...perhaps they are keeping their heavy weights for tomorrow night, more important to them.
We had two ex Everton players in Saha and Young pre game. Jags as well co commentator . I am the first to complain about our coverage, but you couldn’t yesterday. For the first time ever there was a lot of bias towards Everton.

Weird assessment. I didn’t think that at all, and Brighton were much better than us overall. If anything I imagine the Brighton fans would probably complain today’s show was all about Everton, the new stadium and Grealish
Strongly disagree that they were 'much better' than us. Thought we gave as good as we got, which the MOTD highlights failed to show. Got fortunate on two occasions that we didnt concede but I wouldnt suggest that we rode our luck either. We deserved the win.

I thought there seemed to be a lot more respect for us from Sky yesterday than I can recall in the last 15 years. Guess we’ll see how long that lasts.

Even their ads noticeably had more Everton presence in them than I can recall.

Only annoyance for me being that panoramic shot for GP to BMD that they still
Managed to get the Hole Punch in. Wouldn’t have minded if they had made a comment about all three of Everton’s stadiums etc but just seemed a gratuitous opportunity to show it.
That said was literally only on screen for a second an I’m being overly sensitive because they’re horrible neighbours.

The only problem I had today with Sky was that they went to show both goals in Palace v Forest whilst our ball was in play, the second time during a Brighton attack!? Awful work from the director of photography, they need to pack that in.

…other than that, no issue, even spitty was very complimentary and everyone was buzzing on the new ground.
Its like when they do the split screen to show one of the big 6 sky teams getting off the bus for the later kick off game.

The thing that really annoyed me about the sky footage was the tribute for Michael, literally 2 seconds showing the screen, if you blinked you missed it. It was a lovely tribute but was missed for the home viewers watching on tv. I enjoyed the rest of it and always liked that commentator he knows his stuff on Everton loved his comments especially about the 3 football grounds rubbing it in lol. I find that when he commentates we have a good games.

I thought vocal coverage was good yesterday. Very good actually. However, most of the videowork of the stadium could, SHOULD have been a lot better though, especially with a helicopter/drone.

They should be showing things like a brief clip of the game looking through the big North Stand window down onto the game in-play, regular shots/pans of our City/Liver birds, cityscape panning around up and down river, and thr doc heritage etc not just a zoom in clearly highlighting the industrial proximity which to me seemed possibly intentional. Hopefully they make a better varied visual effort in the next televised game(s).

I don't know if the drones used by the TV coverage yesterday were banned from flying facing towards the city and river?
Every shot from them was facing towards the sewage works, why?
Is there signage on the North Stand with Hill Dickenson? That's the only reason I could come up with, that they wanted a shot of the stadium to include Hill Dickenson.

This is a good summary. It’s always crap being the first game of a double header as they try to mash the build up to the second game before the first, feels like you are being short-changed even though the times are probably even.

I just felt BBC managed to cram more positivity into 10 minutes. The tone just felt a bit more celebratory, my bias preferred that. Brighton fans may feel a bit surprised given they played well in spurts, but they blew it themselves really. Minteh and Mitoma against Garner and JOB?

They were rightly glossed over as bit part players in the big story of the day. Normal service will be resumed going forward.

It was jarring how short it was, but it seemed 2/3rds of the big screen was showing the same feed as Sky was. So you had that strange mirror effect of infinite pictures in pictures which is probably a broadcast no no....if they had just zoomed in on the tribute part it could have stayed longer.

 But very true.

Tries so desperately hard to give the impression he is a blue, but cannot help himself getting digs in and mocking us when he can because his existence depends on fickle social media super reds to like him.

A classless bore, whose ego is super fragile. In almost every commentary he sets up a trivia question with the commentator as though he's a fountain of footballing knowledge but completely draws a blank if put on the spot.

Talks as though he's a voice of the average fan when really he is worst of everything about the positioning of a "super 6" you can possibly get.

He's a detestable individual who should be shunned by everyone at the club.

Would have been nice to have a proper blue for the first game. Maybe Osman or someone on MoTD too, although Green and Deeney were sound tbh.
