Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

KWP isn't anywhere near good enough for the wages he was looking for, honestly what is it with our fans and their love for crap players.

We've very little to offer if we're competing with clubs who can give them european football. Other than possibly money. Its a bit of a double edged sword.
You have to either grow your own or have your recruitment so spot on. Hate to use them but Brighton. Bought cucurella. He was a 23yr old left back playing regular for Getafe. A 15m ready to play first team football. Brighton were not in Europe.
It comes down to how your club is run and organised. Everton have been the complete opposite to that.

Im gona drop it coz im even boring myself. But we've again gone into this season with one single fullback who was experienced enough to go with. No right backs, other than a centre half deputising.
Mind you we were so ridiculously short everywhere else we had to concentrate on that as well.
One thing Moyes said the other day was spot on. Trying to attract better quality of player with no European football is not easy. Thats where you need a fantastic scouting network.

Take your point mate about our un-readiness for this season at full back, but haven't we just done what you're praising Brighton (Cucurella) for in picking up Anzou?

Spurs, with their stadium designed to effectively print money, are probably always going to be out of reach for us financially, but Villa are a fair one. They don't have huge revenues, they just have owners who want to spend. Ditto Newcastle and probably Forest are another one you can add (although it's easy to see that all come tumbling down at some point).

We are in the first footsteps of an era where we can grow our revenues to circa double what they have been, but that would still leave us some way short of the sky 6. The short to medium term aim will be to compete with Villa and Newcastle (to a degree) as "best of the rest". We will still have to sell players to progress, but nobody should be scared of that as long as we have our house in order.

I still think Spurs should be a competitive target mate, i would hope to beat them in a 1 on 1s in the seasons to come. While i think we can make gains on stability were they like to chop and change. While they do Spurs stuff to.

No. Not even close. Just said cucurella was a 23yr old who played a couple of full seasons for getafe in la liga. Anzou has played 15 games for valladolid in the spanish 2nd division. He's an inexperienced kid.

Once our first team is sorted, we should push on with our youth team development, expand our scouting throughout the UK and overseas, and invest in finding hidden gems. Other clubs do it so there’s no reason we can’t learn from them and do likewise. The academy should not just feed the first team but also become a revenue stream, producing players that can be sold smartly to reinvest. Alongside that, improving facilities (which we mostly already have done), hiring top coaching staff, and building stronger links with local clubs and schools will create a steady pipeline of talent. It would help us to grow sustainably, reduce dependency on expensive transfers, and build a competitive edge for the future.

This is it - good post mate - in additional to improved revenue streams at BMD.

The plan needs to be not for next season but for 2030, you need to plan in advance for 3-5 seasons time.

That's the game now.

Mate injuries have been a problem for us for years! Have we addressed it? ( Can it be addressed?) Maybe are fbs are always injured because we have zero depth there and they all play too many minutes? I mean Seamus is injured because hes past it...Myk plays too many minutes...Patterson hurt himself getting repeatedly put on his arse in the pre season friendlies...the new guy...still a mystery. Not sure what my point is but for Everton bad luck injuries is an excuse that wore out .any years ago...
So you want us just to sign 3 or 4 players for every position? I really don’t know what you are suggesting. I’m not condoning having injuries, but we have them. They happen. Like I say, any club that had 4 injuries in defence would have a makeshift line up.

We do have depth there (regardless of what we think of the quality) but you can’t legislate for 4 injuries.

Anyway, it’s a pointless argument. We can’t control injuries. But we are by all accounts, after a bother RB.
