Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Most clubs have two fullbacks who are epuipped to play. You think we've two left backs. Ive think we've one. And one kid. Most clubs in the prem dont have a kid with barely a dozen games as their automatic squad replacement.
Going round in circles now.
We couldnt fill the bench in a pre season tour. Its not like we never knew.
Most clubs aren’t run like Everton!

Sorry mate don't rate him and never have, we also literally played Dycheball against Leeds, For a guy who has managed nearly 1200 games his record is very, very meh. I'm not lumping them together other than they are both safety first managers (which they are) He is a step up from Dyche (I don't disagree with that) but the gap isn't anywhere near as big as people make out, take away the modern day Inter Totto Cup they won (Fair play to them even though they spent a fortune) and they have similar philosophies.
In all the years Moyes has been a manager he has never evolved his system whatsoever, sorry but that's not the sign of someone who is progressive, he has an obvious ceiling level to his ability, did the last time he was here, we saw it at West Ham and we will see it here. He can't take that next step because he isn't good enough and the sooner the rest of the happy clappers who think he is untouchable and can do no wrong get over it, we might actually move forward finally.
He will be gone next year, they may have give him more of the reins this year, because of last season. But kinnear and Hammond and the two new guys from city and Utd, have been brought in for the Long haul , I just think their and TFG’S philosophy wiii be different to Moyes. And this safety first, prem experience old school nonsense

@Nymzee caught a fair bit of the Genoa game today as was bored - that Frendrup is an absolutely fantastic player. Would walk straight into our team as the best central mid.

Roma apparently spoke to Genoa about him last week - when inter were after Kone, that would be a good use of the multi club model - get the heads up on the situation and player wants etc.

Silva at Fulham briefed the media re his transfer frustrations.

Fulham transfers out 5
Nelson loan ended
William ooc/retired
Harris* loaned out for season
Benda loaned out for season
Vinicius free transfer

Fulham transfers in 2
Harris* last seasons loan ended
Lecomte GK £400k to replace Benda

Importantly, Tete was a free agent and almost ended up here. Fulham moved quick to keep him because they have struggled with new players.

net are 3 down.

This is doable for other teams, but this is enough for me.

There'll be a ton of transfers on deadline day.

Difference with fulham though. And i heard the palace manager saying the same, they are starting off with a better squad in numbers. Ours was desperation levels.
We have in my opinion 1 sufficient fullback at Everton that im comfortable playing. . Mykolenko.
Coleman is done and injury prone
Patterson is not good enough and injury prone.
The kid we bought is for down the line.
Monday night at leeds was a huge problem. Tomorrow might be a huge problem.
We've let this problem grow.

Personally I’d love to watch the kind of football we used to play with Pienaar, Baines, Ossie, Arteta, Yak but that’s just me. I didn’t enjoy watching Martinez team but others did.
Everyone has a view but I’m in the Moyes camp.
His record of getting EFC/WHU regularly into Europe and his manager of the month awards show that he’s been a success, esp in a world where 2-4 teams have always dominated at any given time
Fair enough, that's not my idea of a good watch but neither was Martinez so I agree there, I mean I will give you Arteta he was class and probably my favourite player of that time but the likes of Cahill and Pienaar and a few others were nowhere close to being as good as our fans made out at the time. I'm well aware of what its like on this website in regards too Moyes, he could burn the new stadium down and people would make excuses for him, that's just how it is and my view is the minority.

We lost eleven, and replaced with eight. We are also net 3 down. Window aint over.

O'Brien has been a revelation from RB. Lescott got LB until he took the place of Distin? And Baines was installed at LB. O'Brien get's filtered into CB next season with Tarkowski (33 November) first choice bench man, Keane got a years extension.
A handful of sides have done the business they wanted, the majority have not. Those that have are unsurprisingly either the scab sixers, or the promoted sides that had squads full of dirge.

The reality of the window is.

Obrien does a job at RB. We're lucky he's adapted to it.
This isnt just this window mind. We've be screaming for a right back for a few years now.

He’s not been a revelation, sorry, firm disagree there. He’s been good, solid. A dependable defensive full back that is a great option to cover a first choice option.

His limitations at RB are shown when he has to deliver crosses or overlap a run.

I love Jake, he cannot be our first choice RB.

The thing is, did you notice anything when he played RB? 'cos I did.

What on earth is a good watch to you then?

I noticed that we had no attacking ideas on that side, yes. Not just his fault of course, we don’t have a right winger.

But full backs are integral to attacks nowadays, he’s very much a center back playing full back as soon as he has to deliver a quality ball into the box (not something I ‘blame’ him for - hes out of position and does a great job defensively).
