The owner is aware, the club is aware, everyone is aware. Everybody knows the reality. This is a lost chance that we had as a group to do it."

Don’t get this?
I have the feeling that Nuno is concerned about the squad's depth and who is coming in, with Europe and (importantly) the owner's expectations.

Marinakis will demand Europe again next season, likely for financial reasons due to their significant outlay, so the league will need to be a real focus.

Yet, we all know what can easily happen when you're playing in the Europa League on a Thursday, often in distant dives, and then early on a Sunday.

While I may be wrong, I think that's what he is alluding to - not enough players, or the right players, coming in to add depth to the squad.

"We have doubts, who is going to be [here], when are they [new signings] going to come? All these things create doubts," he said.

"Not only me but in the club. What we want is game-by-game to have as many options as possible. Europe will come after, and for sure it will be better, but for now until that happens it is a major concern.

and we think we’ve got it bad 🤔

I think their issue was how they knew the clause, so in reality they should be annoyed with the player and their representatives.
It was placed in the contract and agreed by both sides, the agent - the representative of the player knows it only to well, and can operate on finding a better wage and conditions for his client. I recall Wenger putting £40m and a pound for a certain player on the books at Anfield.

I totally agree, they (the player and agent) should know it. Forest's issue was that Spurs had not asked permission to speak to the player.

Forest are believed to be looking at whether a specific confidentiality agreement in the £60m release clause in Gibbs-White's contract has been breached.

BBC Sport reported on Thursday that Gibbs-White was set to have a medical on Friday as Spurs look to trigger that release clause.

Sources have told BBC Sport that Forest are furious at Tottenham's conduct in their pursuit of the England international, and they insist Forest's threat to take legal action is genuine.

It is understood Forest insist they have not given Spurs permission to speak to Gibbs-White and are willing to go to whatever lengths required to prevent the transfer taking place.

Under Premier League rules clubs are not allowed to talk to players under contract with another team unless they have permission

Therefore, regardless of the fact that every team speaks to a player's representatives before a deal is done, they questioned legally how Spurs knew it.

Especially if there was a confidentiality agreement/clause within the contract. Look, I am not saying Forest are correct, but legally it is questionable...

... if the clause was specifically written in a way that it could not be disclosed without permission of the club.

'I can't tell you the release clause is as high as £61 million, like I can't tell you it is as low as £59 million. Technically, I am not allowed to detail anything specific in the contract unless given express permission by both employer and employee.'

hundred ways to skin a cat, these agents are devious pieces of work at the best of times.

Interesting article in The Athletic today, which basically says that there has been a massive falling-out between Edu and Nuno, which is far more personal than the state of the team or the transfers.

In addition to Nuno not being able to stand Edu, who has now been inserted in the former relationship between Marinakis and the manager, Nuno is closely linked to football agent Mendes, while Joorabchian is involved in most of the transfer business now because of his links to Edu.

Ever a club that is going to implode, archetype ego owner.

Mad though isn’t it ? I get edu might be a decent director of football but Nuno has massively over performed, crazy that the owner doesn’t seem to grasp that .

It is. You would think it is about Joorabchian's influence, but the article claims it is far more to do with Edu. A short extract:
Nuno’s relationship with Edu started badly and, since then, it has deteriorated to the point where there is an acceptance at the City Ground that the damage is potentially irreparable. Edu arrived with Kia Joorabchian, the influential businessman and football advisor, as his close ally. The manager has made his feelings clear, particularly about Edu, both to the man himself and others at the club.

It is personal, deeply personal, between himself and Edu and perhaps the most worrying aspect for Forest fans is that, as things stand, it is difficult to see the two men making up. Of the two, Nuno has largely been the aggressor, outspoken in the extreme. Edu has been staying away from the club’s training ground.

They do appear to be very “2017 Everton but some of the players they’ve signed are actually good” what with all the dodgy owners, dodgy agent agreements annd financial irregularities etc.
