I'm more confused now. Maybe as I've downed copious amounts of lager since I reposted this but im sorry it still makes no sense to me.
He wants to be the main man but he's not up to it - according to him ? Or you ? Sagres by the way.

Moyes is the one trying to increase standards across the club, not lower themSaying you've been turned down in itself is unprofessional mate, it ta our club but it's also a business trying to recruit people into it, what other manager would go in the private sector blabbing about being unable to recruit a certain level of employee so now lowering standards ...
Wages arenāt the issue, thatās not the issue according to Moyes himself. We have no idea what sort of wages are being offered though. If you want top players you need to offer top end contracts.
Indeed. It's a sign of terrible recruitment. That's been Everton's problem in the last decade. We have continuously hired badly, so sacking is an inevitable consequence of that.Constantly having to fire managers is a sign of weak executive management.
Itās not thoughIt's like going over to a girl in a bar and telling her at 1am you've been trying to pull really attractive girls all night but failing so decided to try the decent ones bombed out with those so gave up and went to go talk to her instead.
Is he?. Because I havenāt seen anything to suggest heās increasing standards.Moyes is the one trying to increase standards across the club, not lower them
There haven't been proper standards at Everton for years. We aimed for 17th place.
Thereās a middle ground between fighting relegation and winning trophies. Most clubs donāt win trophies so itās a pointless metric.Indeed. It's a sign of terrible recruitment. We need to stop appointing managers to do one job (fire-fighting) and expect them to do another (winning trophies). For this reason, I would have thanked Moyes in May and appointed the manager I had planned to hire for the changed job with different requirements in June 2025. But, as we know, Friedkin did not have a "chosen manager" or a plan, so we are where we are. So, if they were keeping Moyes on, they should have played to his strengths. I don't think they've done that this summer. Which means we have the worst of both worlds.
It needs to be the aim, though.Thereās a middle ground between fighting relegation and winning trophies. Most clubs donāt win trophies so itās a pointless metric.
No, itās an aspiration. You have to have realistic targets. Incremental improvement. It needs to be the aim, though.
That goes without saying. No, itās an aspiration. You have to have realistic targets. Incremental improvement.
Compare where we were when he first joined us after Walter Smith to when he left, and when he took over from Dyche to the season's end.Is he?. Because I havenāt seen anything to suggest heās increasing standards.
