Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Sorry to see Posh lost again the other night, but my dismal run ended with a cup victory last night so I go into the weekend with renewed optimism. Plus I finished the house painting yesterday, so no more climbing ladders for a while, wahoooošŸ™‚
Good to hear your dismal run has ended, watched Posh the other night on TV and if that match was anything to go by their terrible run won’t be ending anytime soon. Congrats on finishing the house painting. I hate ladders, standing on the bottom rung whilst the husband painted the rendering and eaves of our house was pure torture, to make matters worse, on being asked, he then painted four of our neighbours houses and so I got the job again, I wasn’t best pleased.šŸ˜†

The Sky+ feature is great if you follow an EFL team , I ended up watching quite a few matches last year , apart from Everton I don’t watch many PL matches but can with live attendance watch 3 games a weekend sometimes, which is enough . I’ve followed Darren Ferguson’s exploits with interest over the years since his playing days.

In the pub last night we were chatting about the amount of live football available if you know where to look (or have the money to pay). It feels like only a matter of time until you can watch every game of your team of choice.

You pretty much already can with a PL team, if you have a dodgy box/stick. But without one, 71% of games are on either Sky Sports or TNT.

The EFL is well covered by Sky too. Sooner rather than later, it'll be 100% of games available, and while that's great for revenue, it's another nail to football.

We still have the 3pm blackout, but with the number of games available for broadcasting, only 29% of all games can be at 3pm on a Saturday.

There'll be other games on a Sunday at 1pm/2pm, which aren't broadcast, so the actual percentage will likely be less than 1/4, which is terrible.

Admittedly, I get a little bit of a bee in my bonnet about this, because as a regular match-go going fan 3pm kick off a Saturday is the best - as it should be.

5.30pm on a Saturday is alright, yet I dislike the 12.30pm Saturday games, despise the 1/2pm on a Sunday fixture and the 4.30pm games.... pfft.

I have been able to watch all the Everton games for the past couple of years yet it still feels like a real treat after years of radio etc. the demise of Saturday 3pm fixtures is sad though, particularly for travelling fans. Not the biggest fan of Sunday games due to likely working on Mondays but that’s the way it seems to be going under the expansion of the TV broadcasting. I say that and I have 2 Sunday matches booked to take long weekends in the city šŸ˜—

I have forgotten what it is like to wear trousers.
You going to catch Chappell at Reading tonight. It's on BBC at 10.40 but I'm hoping the whole set will be on IPLAYER live earlier. The IPLAYER coverage doesn't seem very extensive this year.

I've caught a few of her festival sets this summer and each one seems to go up a level. The girls have been smashing it too. They've been getting some huge crowds across Europe. There's a really good YouTube video of their Pukkelpop set.

G&T Friday delayed tonight. Just enjoying a couple of Freds special Pimms (laced with vodka) in the sun listening to some good music. So G&T relegated to after the barbie. But I can still do my cheers with my Pimms, which actually needs refreshing. šŸ˜€

Hope you all have a great weekend.

I’m aiming to be good tonight due to travelling tomorrow so will rely on iPlayer myself.

I have never heard of Pukkelpop but will check it out.

I forgot you were going to the game. I must catch up on the thread. Dipped my nose into the Everton forum a couple of times and it's just so negative in there I've been avoiding the whole forum tbh. Very remiss of me.

Pukkelpop is a Belgian festival I think. They have a big following there surprisingly.

A lot of frustration out there but I remain hopeful that we will be stronger again come the end of the window. I found myself somewhat disheartened by the Moyes’ presser today. He spoke the truth but there comes a time for a leader to acknowledge the difficulties but still put fire in the bellies. Well for me, he didn’t do that.

So we are planning on going to a game at BM this season, I have a mate who has 2 premium ST, I’m hoping to use them for one of the games but it looks like I have to get a letter from the pope for him to transfer them to me,

He lives here in Canada and flys over for the games,he is there this weekend so I’ll find or more when he comes back

Each game ticket is £250 that includes all your drink and food from ((if you want)
12-7pm on regular 3 o’clock KO games

So I’ll keep my fingers crossed
