Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

In a way players always were mercenaries.
Only the locally born players really played for the shirt .
But players don’t move only for money ( and let’s be honest which of us doesn’t or wouldn’t change jobs for a better pay packet) they also move for success for a chance of winning medals , that is what we are lacking more than anything, our wages are as good as most.
We haven’t won a thing for 3 decades , nobody who has a choice of clubs would choose a team known for having celebrated nothing for an entire generation.
We are trapped in a hell of our own making.
Celebrated nothing?

I seem to remember we partied hard a few times when we avoided relegation.

Yeah ,
Felt good at the time .
But looking back it was slightly cringeworthy and embarrassing.
Remember celebrating in town after the Wimbledon game and getting into a fight on Church St with an RS who took exception to the Barry Horne song cause he was gutted we hadn’t gone down .
Good days 😂

Jamie V incoming!

Bowen...all day long...but no chance he'll come here, but no way TFG would spend that much on one player.

29 in December and an oven ready player that Moyes has probably asked his agent about. Bowen isnt ever leaving west ham.

What would they want for him? Got to be £80mil+ as without him theyre going to be relegated.

Meanwhile we could be signing Fofana and Dibling and in 2 years they could be on the same trajectory as Bowen, or already at his level.

Theyre now each rated at £70mil.

I know who are the better signings.

Not the ones Moyes wants.

I agree it has to be a mixture of players for the future and team ready players but we can't exclusively go down the youth route, our squad is desperate for first team players. I certainly wouldn't spend big money on older players as we've just about got ourselves out of the hole we dug for ourselves doing that last time around. Some N'Diaye style signings would be very welcome. My biggest fear is that we buy players and Moyes won't play them. It seems to me that we might be in that position with Barry and Aznou and, despite what others say about Moyes, it appears to me hat he doesn't trust young players OR players who have played in other leagues, which doesn't leave us a lot of latitude. I'm not optimistic he'll play Dibbling that often if we sign him, for that exact reason.

I think we should have picked the core of the team for the next season first.

Then we should have gone for players u23 at probably big money fees to bring in around that core.

Next we should have gone for loans for the bench.

I dont think we need any more experience.

Pickford
Tarkowski
Coleman
Gana

We dont need any more older players.

Others like McNeil, Garner, Mykolenko, Keane and Ndiaye are senior at the club.

Theres enough experience in the group.

We need young players, assets who can develop and improve to take the club forwards.

Agree with you so much. People keep posting in here that project players are not what we need, we need players that can contribute here and now. Eh? Contribute here and now, for what? Maybe an 8th place finish if we do unbelievably well? And then what? Project players are EXACTLY what we need, because we're not competing for anything right now. We want to compete for things in 2-3 years. Almost like it's a...project.
