He seemed a bit less agitated today.
It's why having the people responsible for transfers in post months in advance of the window is so important. All of the groundwork around who is genuinely interested in playing for us should be done so this game of whack-a-mole doesn't happen in the time restricted transfer window. A huge part of the issue this summer is a lack of planning and no clear idea about who is a viable signing. It's a mess and a lot of that is at TFGs door, imo.I'd suggest the biggest problem, which the manager has basically said, is identifying the wrong players - players who don't want to come here.
Did I watch a different conference ? Didn't seem to point fingers - seemed sympathetic almost.
I wonder if Nuno was TFG first choice, they did say their target was employed.
Looks like him and Forest will soon part company.

He started off quite positive when it came to bringing people in (he thought they would) but then got more negative the more he went on (they might be the ones that were lower down on the list). He seemed a bit less agitated today.
Fulham and Palace are also having a terrible window. They've got less to do in terms of their squads, however. To be fair, he wasn't the only one having a whinge today. (Or even the worst.)
Marco Silva: "We had a plan and the plan until now didn’t go through, it’s as simple as that. We have to look at ourselves, it’s our fault, it’s not the fault of the market.
I cannot tell you that someone is going to arrive tomorrow or in two day’s time because I’m not sure and, to be honest, I have big doubts that it’s going to happen.
That plan failed until now, it is clear.
We need solutions in the back line, we are short in certain positions there, we need another midfielder to come in as well.
Some of our main targets are no more, we have to go in a different direction right now."
Oliver Glasner: "I think it’s better I don’t talk too much about it. Because, you know, I start to get … And it’s better than not always saying what you are feeling and what you’re thinking. We have to act. We need this. And this is Crystal Palace’s future. The profile is defined for months. It is not surprising for everyone that Ebs left. We missed the chance to replace him early enough. That’s completely our fault and nobody else’s."

Like the arrogant chubster at the disco!Which is to be expected. I'm just sad it sounds like we're sat here with less than 2 weeks to go only now realising we aren't as attractive as we thought![]()
Evidently we are fishing in a small pond these days .I'd suggest the biggest problem, which the manager has basically said, is identifying the wrong players - players who don't want to come here.
Sometimes I wish I wasn't an admin on here as I pull some punches to try an be less of a miserable arse, but as a fan, it put a black mark against TFG for me.
They didn't want Moyes.
They had their man who was coming in the summer to replace Dyche.
They lost their nerve.
They allowed short term to dictate long term.
Time will tell whether that was the right decision - obviously, I hope they're right and I'm wrong.
If it was my club, Thelwell/Purdy would have been retained for a year or two, and Frank would be the manager now.
I know 100% he cancelled the lad from Lyon who we'd arranged to buy for 20mLost their nerve by retaining him, rather that appointing. They had nobody else who they could appoint after Dyche downed tools. On the comparison, I see what you mean, but there's a big difference. I think the recruitment position meant we needed some continuity there.
To move away from DOF model entirely, and to hire so many just felt bad timing to me. A managers position is very different to that.
Just out of interest I wonder if Roma have a DOF? I ask as I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was Moyes who forced the changes we've seen. We had players lined up to come in January, which he turned away.

100% let Moyes bring the players in.
He won’t play or will limit those he doesn’t bring in.
Transfer team proven incompetent let Moyes assume control. It cannot be any worse.
Strange vibe about that presser imo
near the end he states Europe is a big reason being unable to bring the kind of players he wants and earlier he mentioned going down the pecking order of players they bring in.
This is the problem isn’t it, unless your recruitment is a major success this season and we manage a European spot in the league or we win one of the domestic cups, we face the same recruitment problem next year as well and prolonging the dull, tedious existence we currently have.
Come on.
We all know Moyes by now.
It's what he does.
There was nothing of any note in that press conference. Very boring questions, nothing said that we didn't already know.
I much preferred Moyes when he was holding the recruitment team to account and trying to drive standards. It feels like he has just accepted this won't be a good window now. That's my only take away from this press conference. I wanted to hear him call out the recruitment much more vocally because it's important that the committee know what has happened so far is totally unacceptable at Everton.
I feel like the optimism and ambition has been drained out of him over the last few weeks and I think that's an extremely worrying sign for the new ownership.
Think it's pertinent to note that his tone shifted once KDH and then Grealish were brought in. Clearly two lads that he was the most happy to sign off on thus far.
That's Moyes, Tim. He has the final say, so has been reported.
If good players aren’t that fussed on signing for Everton they are also by implication not particularly attracted to the idea of playing for Moyes either.Hes always been the same. When he was here last time it was "ive got no money knife to a gunfight." Now hes got money and hes still crying. Its not like he hasnt identified the players to go for. I would say he says yes or no. He needs to knock this "players dont want to sign for Everton" stuff off now. He shouldve been told in america to keep that in house but here he is again. Hes saying it in a way like its not his fault that players from champions league clubs or european based players whose stock is high and have other clubs in for them are difficult to sign. Weve been a club fighting relegation and financial ruin for years incase he has forgot.Moyes wouldnt be here if we were a club challenging for europe. "Im a man that builds clubs" he said. The new owners and stadium are what supporters are hoping are going to be the catalyst to the rebuilding of the club. I personally dont need him moaning coz yet again despite signing how many players? His teams look undercooked for the start of yet another season. His job is to get what hes got at the best they can be in august. Anyway UTFT.
