Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The only thing I would say is that if you look at the mid-table teams who finished around us it's difficult to see any who've noticeably improved with signings this summer.

I know we have more work to do than most of them in terms of numbers but it doesn't seem to be a buyer's market so far away that level.
Accept all that - but the only way to improve relative to your rivals (if we can call Palace, Brentford, and Bournemouth our rivals) is to outperform them. We're currently not doing that in the market.

If people think Dibbling is the answer, he isn’t. He’s exactly what Barry is, not ready.

He’s not what we need right now and this isn’t football manager.

Way too raw like Barry. Squads so under cooked and imbalanced we can’t afford to nurture talent.

Whether you like it or not we have a manager who will be under pressure this season; due to the lack of squad calibre and most notably squad depth.

He isn’t playing 19 year old potentials. They will come from the bench when and only when he’s happy to do so.

What world do you live in where we have been hamstrung by FFP for the last several years that going out and spending 50m on an unproven (albeit potentially high level) 19 year old seems a wise move.

Everyone assuming he turns out world class? What happens if he doesn’t. 50m down the…

Transfers need to be a lot smarter. Would not surprise me at all to see Barry out on loan next season.
These are the players we can sign because we can guarantee them playing time that they need to develop. Like it or not this is all we can realistically offer right now, and the only reason players have to sign for us instead of Chelsea.

We know the potential of the club because we are fans and we know the club inside out, we can see the potential for this new version of Everton becuase we desperately need to be able to see it.

If you use Fofana as an example, we've approached the player and he says he wants European football. We can pitch our project to him and say we want Europe next year, we're going to spend x amount of money to achieve this. At the end of the day though we are basically just saying to him 'trust me bro'

For a club thats been as much of a mess as we have you can see why this is an issue.

Moyes today

"we might have to bring in a lower quality of player so we have a big enough squad for the season"

Way to get the crowd up for the first home game, David.

I don’t understand it personally , aiming to win things should be exciting, a positive.

The press conference had a weird vibe about it, like it was more controlled than usual.

I thought that about the press conference, thought Moyes was a lot more mellow as if he’d been told to lower the tone. That, or he was just that cheesed off he couldn’t be arsed.

They included a buy back clause.
Making it essentially an expensive loan if he turns out good.

And a waste of £25m if he’s crap.
Can you imagine us signing him, turning him into a great player, and them lot signing him back for £35m in 18 month's time?
