He quoted the amount of goals he scored like that was relevant?!?!?“Alternatives include Josh Brownhill” - does he think he’s a striker or something???

If you honestly think the biggest differentiator between us and Chelsea is that they're going to be in Europe this season then I don't really know what to say. Players want to play in the Champions League for the biggest clubs, everybody knows that, but 'Europe'? It's maybe a slight consideration but I very much doubt it's a key point for the vast majority of players, and it's the job of the recruitment team to ensure that any player we speak to goes away with no doubt in their mind that playing half a dozen games in European backwaters for Forest or someone will be no substitute for what they can do if they come here, it's hardly asking a lot for them to sell the club to that extent.A certain type of player does have aspirations to play in Europe, that was supposedly Delap's reasoning to sign for Chelsea I do get all the players comment does feel outlandish and yes you have man united pulling in players unfortunately they have more cultural cache due to more recent success just over a decade, and we seem to have money but not stupid amounts of money which seems key in bringing in players when you're not in Europe like Guimeres and Newcastle
but there are players that purely want to play in the premier league, I guess wages is another factorwe simply face the same recruitment problems next summer if Europe is such a major factor in players wanting to play here and it will be the same arguments, same excuses etc all over again.
Your best mate, @Eggs
I'm very curious what Josh Brownhill's actual wage demands are because that's been mentioned as a hurdle before
Upwards of £75k I reckon. Too much.I'm very curious what Josh Brownhill's actual wage demands are because that's been mentioned as a hurdle before
I can understand that view, I'm just saying that there'd be equally as much fume if we were signing 28-year-olds for £20m+ (as that's what anyone even half-decent costs) from other Premier League clubs to fill the many holes.Look I’m all in the camp wishing Everton could buy 18-21 wonder kids.
The squad/first 11, albeit not inspiring needs more of the “solid, do a job” you refer to.
We can’t fill a bench without two keepers and players who Moyes knows are never going to be good enough Onyango etc.
Upwards of £75k I reckon. Too much.
It’s true but are they good enough, will they fit a style, will they settle, manage the expectation of our fans, want to live in the NW, want to stay more than a season, have an agent not in another team’s pocket, etc etc.but there are players that purely want to play in the premier league, I guess wages is another factor
so when you dont have european football I guess you either sell the "project" or you convince them with wages/prem status
