Jeez if he has less technical ability than Beto we are in a world of problemsThe problem for us is the guy in front of him is raw but closer to the finished article.

Barry hardly even started at the under21 comp, nothing against the lad but he was always a little too raw for us imo. It's why I was instantly critical of the Barry signingidentical players.

The reports seem to suggest that the club weren't expecting him to be so raw though, which is obviously a slightly different (and far more concerning) issue. Us watching him and thinking he looks a bit raw is one thing, the club spending a load of money on him and then seeing him in training and deciding he's not ready would be a pretty serious situation.I'm lost here.
Why do you think Barry being raw/work in progress might just be paper nonsense? Have you not got eyes?
He is incredibly raw: looked it on YouTube, looked at it in the U21 Euros, looked it for us in pre-season.
It was completely obvious.
Ok but you said that Beto was closer to the finished article than Barry , which implies that he's got better technical ability.I think he's already shown more technical ability. He's held up the ball once or twice in preseason in his limited opportunities, had that nice turn at the halfway line. Beto couldn't even dream of doing that.
My point was Beto isn't getting any better than he is now, Barry has time on his side.
No problem with the Barry signing, it’s him supplementing Beto which is the problem. Beto needs replacing with a better striker. Why did we spend over £30m on a ‘raw’ striker?
I thought we were getting someone ready to go.
If the recruitment team get their way we will spend £50 million on a RW who isn't ready either. Why did we spend over £30m on a ‘raw’ striker?

Anyway one way or the other I'm rapidly getting pretty pissed off with the new Everton.
Same old , same old to me.
But we can't afford to buy a better striker than Beto when we've spent £27m on someone who isn't readyNo problem with the Barry signing, it’s him supplementing Beto which is the problem. Beto needs replacing with a better striker.
We have been trying...If the recruitment team get their way we will spend £50 million on a RW who isn't ready either.
Deffo not a Moyes signing for me that one.But we can't afford to buy a better striker than Beto when we've spent £27m on someone who isn't ready
I’ve no idea what we can and can’t afford. There was talk of 100-150 mil to spend, surely there some left? But we can't afford to buy a better striker than Beto when we've spent £27m on someone who isn't ready
