Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread


How dare the club treat us so disgracefully.
Built this great big stadium with steep stands and everything and there's gonna be nothing worth going along for.
Someone called it an albatross, they were right you know.
Knew it was a bad omen when that terrible lager* budweiser was installed.

Bad to worse, worse to awful.
 
Call me naive but whether the new generation of journos, ITKs, click baits or whatever crave content and clicks, I’m pretty sure that the ones who care (who are evertonians, locals or whatever) would love nothing more than reporting on either a scoop or positive news.
We all want 3-5 new players and I’m sure they are no different, regardless of whether ‘they’ break the news or not.
The internet is an easy place to slag people off but these people are humans, lucky enough to do a job that most fans crave.
They can’t just fathom news like the other lot I mentioned earlier. They want to report what they genuinely know/are told.
I’m as disappointed with the summer so far as anyone but I’m also bloody excited about the stadium and future after decades of disappointment and near misses.

You can have a transfer committee, executive scouts, a director of football and a team of independent data analysts, but it’s not going to do much if they won’t stump up the asking price for players!

I think its the mindset of trying to bring best business practices into the EPL transfer window. The EPL is a plaything of billionaires, corporations and state funded entities. A few at the top are guarenteed to make money. The rest are here to make up the numbers and better have deep pocket. If you want to at least enjoy yourselves and have a little fun, you have to go a little crazy and pay whatever it takes...aka Notts Forrest. Sensible isnt sexy in today's football.
 

Based on the limited sample of preseason and the Leeds game it would appear that:
Our defence is AWOL and we need reinforcements
Our midfield is easily overun and we need reinforcements
Our sparkling and skillfull attack can't make or score goals and needs reinforcements

and yet, we sign no-one!

….it hasn’t closed yet. Disappointing we haven’t filled what I think is an ‘easy’ position at RB but brinkmanship might be at play in RW acquisition which could also inform how much there is to spend elsewhere.

I truly don’t think we can judge a summer window until Christmas but we’ve got another week or so to fill critical positions and strengthen the squad.

Moyes has arguably as strong a group at his disposal now that finished the season so strongly. We beat Newcastle away in the last game. I always thought we’d need/use full window, I’m actually not too enamoured with Grealish and KDH but happy to wait another week or so to see who else comes in.

You left out the manager who used a handful of players out of position.
