Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread


If I had to guess, I’d say there’s some internal rift over whether we go balls out for Dibling or not. Because the Dibling fee changes completely what else we’re able to do in the market we’ve ground to a halt completely.

Going back and forth with bids until we get within a few mil and then seeing our arse is a bit mad, like. I feel like getting it done quick sends the message we don’t mess about, definitively walking away sends the message we don’t get messed about, but we’ve chosen “let’s wait and see” which isn’t the most ridiculous tactic in general terms but given our very specific set of circumstances, and general GOT fan sentiment is just very PTSD-inducing.

We’re leaking the “desperate to sign a RW” line everywhere and my worry - again based on nothing but being an Everton fan - is that it’s almost preemptive cover so if that’s all the business we end up doing between now and the end of the window, we can say “at least we got our number one priority sorted.”

Tbh, given that concern I was actually quite happy to see the Ake link surface.

We could prob not blow £40 mill on Dibling and do all that while loaning Nelson mate, i know people are annoyed with the dealy if we are to sign Dibling but £40 mill + is a lot of money - for us - it will be our biggest investment of the summer.
