Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

PSR rules really can’t stand as they are much longer, transfer fees have doubled for a start.
This is completely off topic so apologies, but PSR definitely needs to be amended bc its hard for anyone to argue as it currently stands it is in place to protect the "Big 6". And on top of that it protects the Prem clubs to the severe detriment of the championship and league 1 sides. But I do think it needs to be amended and something needs to be put in place. This definitely seems like a bubble where fees are getting so out of hand there will be a couple clubs that get themselves in serious trouble.

West Ham and Burnley looked awful too. Doesn't mean we aren't bad though. Our team looked like they'd just met on Monday.

Moyes teams always start slow, we will pick up and let’s be clear here Leeds played out of their skin whilst we were awful.

They needed a dodgy penalty to beat us so I really don’t get the doom and gloom it’s like have never watched Everton over a season before.

….McNeil covered LB for part of a home game last season (maybe Palace?) and he was an absolute liability. It surprised me, but they were literally walking past him, it was as though he wasn’t on the-pitch.
But at least starting him there allows Garner to play alongside Gana...regardless, we signed an effing left back! He may be young but he was part of a Bayern Munich set up and played somes games in La Liga...but not good enough for David Moyes mighty Everton in a pinch??? Wtf! And while Im ranting, McNeil has been one of our more creative players of rhe last two years and scored some goals. Now he sits on the bench and we say things like " heard Moyes doesnt rate him". Who the f$$k does Moyes rate?...Coleman apparently.

It's up in the air whether they did in fact do this. And they then decided to hand out contracts to Barry, Alcaraz, Aznou and Travers that didn't max out their amortisation. And they added 12m cost with grealish.
I’d hope there would have been naturally a little PSR headroom to start, and I thought the sale of the women’s team was confirmed - we were slowly coming out of a horrid 3 year PSR cycle depending on which year dropped off and then the salaries you mention would likely be covered by the salaries we are no longer contractually obliged to pay, so yes it really depends then on 1. What the natural head room was and 2. How much our headroom was improved through that sale and our projected increased revenue this year)

If Moyes starts Garner at lb again, i will officially lose my sh$$t...forget Agent Rafael, this will be Moyes putting his own ego above the team to get one over on the sham of a recruitment team again.

….its a difficult one. Garner looks the best option we have at LB, James arguably Leeds’ most dangerous attacker. The dilemma is whether to start your best LB or go with a weaker option against their best forward.

Moyes seemed to think it was better to start Garner there rather than somebody like McNeil who we know from a temporary spell last season is a huge risk at LB. I think it was a sensible decision, even if it left us weaker in midfield.

" Moyes team always starts slow"... thats not really a great bullet on a resume!

Leeds were rubbish. They huffed and puffed a lot in the first half but any decent outfit would have battered them. They'll go down. We were terrible, no ideas, no attacking intent, loads of backwards passing and some really avoidable errors. Why does Moyes get a pass for being a slow starter, btw?

It's sad but Everton being gash genuinely does have quite a knock on effect to my mental health. That's one thing I've learned these last few seasons...

Which is why this current transfer window is a failure. We needed players in 3 weeks ago! Ffs.
Mate, take comfort from the fact that despite how fragile your mental wellbeing may seem. The fact that you are still an Evertonian after all these years, actually demonstrates how resilient you are, how resilient we all are!

To remain steadfastly blue in this city, where our sworn enemy has seemingly endless success and good fortune; Where all the worlds media seems to love them and hate us; where all officialdom seems against us and where even our own club seems determined to kick us in the knackers every opportunity they get. To remain steadfastly blue actually shows that your mental health is a rock-hard, one punch knockout merchant.

I mean.. he doesn't?

The perspective being provided here is that, despite this failing, he's still a competent manager who should have this squad clear of any trouble this season regardless.
