Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It’s a shame that we aren’t showing as much ambition as forest as I am quite envious
Their manager comes out and says the squad is nowhere near ready last week and since then they’ve signed 3 players and are close on another 2. They’re taking the risk that these new players won’t flop and they’ll be battling for the top 4 again. Meanwhile we’re all arguing over a bobble hat and his mate. Cheers Everton

If we dont sign players by the end of the window, and we are unlucky with injuries, the uproar of a possible relegation to the championship will make them sell the club very quickly...
Christ mate. Go for a walk. Calm your breathing down. Call Samaritans if you need a chat but its really not as catastrophic as all that! One game in. I say again. One. Game. In.

Fascinating.

If it's true Moyes is putting stupid limitations on himself?

Where do you make this stuff up? I've got a fairly active imagination, but you've got me beat. If he's sabotaging himself, someone needs to come along and stand up to his self sabotage in a clear and frank manner? Specifically the leeds losers need to do this. Moyes is now bullying them? Dysfunctional operation?

Is this some form of performance art? 'New age jive' or some such rubbish? Why not really run with it? He's waiting for instructions from the mothership that's docked behind Mercury to unleash the full potential of the squad, the three spare keepers will be the new attack because they can all whack the ball dead hard and the opposition sides will never see it coming.

So so bizarre.
Been foraging for mushrooms?! That was some stream of consciousness!

Jesus Christ it's literally their first window. And any limitations in spending is going to be down to PSR, not TFG failing to stump up cash.

Why do people think that we're out of the woods when it comes to PSR? This is why you don't let a load of first team players reach the end of their contracts at the same time, we've freed up wages but not made any sales.
Psr...how convenient...we have sold the womens team with goodisson park...there are ways, if there is a will...

Plenty of theories. Maybe too many cooks in the kitchen? Maybe Moyes has a different vision of who to bring in and he's not on the same page with the recruitment team? Maybe the new recruitment team are being cautious after years of mismanagement at the club? Maybe the players at the top of our shortlist aren't available or the clubs are making it difficult to do a deal so we're testing their resolve? Take your pick
I think this team is not working like someone at head office thought it would. Very risky throwing three or four egos into a room, giving them financial and time constraints and high expectations and expecting smooth sailing. I think within a few months, this recruitment " team" model is going to look very different...

I think what's most disappointing is that we really needed a few targets that were high up the list to land for us early. Without that, we've struggled to build our appeal to other potential signings to see that the club is finally heading in the right direction.

I don't believe the recruitment team has been too complacent or unaware of what positions needed filling, but they've definitely been caught out by how little pull we seem to have on attracting better quality players. Those average 'attainable' players we could've signed last month will still likely be there for us next week, we just have to do something to try and break this doom loop of signing players that don't improve us.

Also, that Bobble rumour about lack of funds is garbage, I can tell you that much.

Fully agree.

Just passed Hammond, saw him drinking a pepsi and twiddling his thumb sitting at a nando's. He was muttering, "I have hit a wall... I have hit a wall....". Don't shoot the messenger, just here to provide info.
Funnily enough, I was driving home and stopped at the traffic lights. There was a guy in an RAC van sat next to me absolutely crying his eyes out.
I thought, he's heading for a breakdown.

To be honest Leeds were doing that in parts in the first half not having a go at Garner think he improved as the game went on just think we lost him from the middle and would have preferred a left footer on the left

…I thought Garner was easily our best player, not sure what other options we had at LB but McNeil is a liability there.
