Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I've never really rated him. His end product is horrendous. His pace has most likely declined a little. And like Sancho I don't detect any hunger in him anymore. I remember QPR tried this strategy of buying over the hill once good players and it nearly finished them off. Plus there's absolutely no link to Sterling either so there's no point even thinking of this scenario
Sterling scored 18, 17, 20 in consecutive seasons. They are goal scoring numbers that are probably better than any winner in premier league history. He followed those with 10 and 13. At City he was scoring a goal every 2.5 games. Even at Chelsea it was a goal every 4 games. He was a top top player.

He missed a tonne too. I'm not saying he wasn't decent at his peak but he never convinced me as a top level player especially in an England shirt

One bad season last year
Has a better than 1 in 4 goal scoring record in his career as 1 in 5 assist record. He is not turbo gash. He is younger than Gareth Barry when he signed and the same age as James Rodriguez..
Not sure looking at someone’s goal record across their entire career is a great indicator of their current worth. His best years were getting on the end of attacking moves by one of the greatest club football sides ever assembled. Not really built for our grindcore methods.

Admittedly talking about clubs with plenty of other options, but no-one wants him. And Nathan Patterson is more likely to be in the next England squad than Sterling. Looks like he has nothing left to play for, which if you can ignore his club history, is a shame.

Just dont get what we are waiting for. Saving a few million? Every day that goes by I just see the chances of quality coming in lessening , and dross and averageness coming in anyway, and maybe one good player if we pay the money because holding off doesn't increase the chances of getting good players. Why not just get a couple of solid players to give us a shape preseason? This strategy is a mess because we are a snob if a club when it comes to needing big league experience, not every player you buy has to have this. A solid right back and a solid right winger should have been in a month ago, just for shape and to work on the team. Now we will have to integrate players late and it takes time
