Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

When you look at the glaring holes right throughout the team, I do find it baffling that we spent roughly £12 million on a premium loan.

Grealish at £12 million is very much cherry on the cake. But for me, there are much more pressing needs which required that investment.

If we had a strong DoF, I don’t think he’s sanctioning that loan fee, not when you look at our full back options.

Don’t worry mate Grealish is free.

In all seriousness, there is still a fair bit of waste still in the squad - that as time passes looks like a long shot at coming good.

Collectively Patterson, Chermiti and Tim cost us just South of 35 mill.

It’s unlikely we will make a return on that 35 mill investment and nor does it seem likely any of them play many games for us.

35 mill isn’t an insignificant sum, really poor example of investing well and or developing young players.

We need to stop doing this as a start if we are to be a seriously run functional sporting out fit and business.

At least with Grealish £12 mill from an investment point of view you know exactly what you’re getting and proven.

Guys, work on transfers is being done, we just aren’t hearing about it. To double down on my previous post, there is a clear causal link between a member of senior management publicly calling out employees leaking confidential information to the public, and a sudden dearth of information reaching us. To imagine that this is pure coincidence seems a stretch.

What is more likely? That Moyes calling out the leak has caused a decline in the amount of publicly available information, or that by pure coincidence at the exact time this happened the highly paid, business critical player recruitment team has decided to completely down tools and cease activity entirely? And for what reason would they ever do that? Spite? Ennui?

Work continues people, of course it does. Signings are coming. Wins are coming. I would respectfully suggest that we try to look forward to them.
Way too positive for this forum

Unless the Grand Old Team moderator gets a bee in his bonnet about you expressing your valid opinion, despite ignoring the fact that having just lost to another team considered to be newly promoted relegation fodder without having raised a shot in anger and having been second best for the majority of the game, so he closes all the threads where someone references relegation because "oh we finished 20 points above it last season".

Problem is we have lost a decent portion of our squad depth and not yet replaced a sufficient number of them or addressed the squad issues we already had before that. Plus the teams coming up this time already look to be improvements on last year's trio of wet lettuces (Burnley aside).

So basically, if you don't have the blind optimism of a 4 year old, don't bother saying anything.

Actually, it does sound like the forums are being run by Americans now too!

Sign of the times?

No. I'm not. Read my f'in posts. I haven't mentioned relegation once this summer or since Moyes got on a run. Terminal decline is dropping from title contenders, to one of the biggest clubs, to European contenders, to nowhere near the big 6, to mid table, to circling the drain. To overall acceptance of achievement of being 'fine' to achieve nothing whatsoever, while a plethora of small clubs overtake us.

That is terminal decline and requires new attitudes and a bold new strategy. An upturn in form for half a season does not undo years of terminal decline. You are also not the arbiter of opinion on here. If people are unhappy, they have every right to express it on a forum without being belittled for it.
You literally mentioned relegation earlier

As for terminal decline, we were literally top five form since January - the best form of the last 5 years I’d wager

I mean, you’re answering your own questions

Only one man to get in some right-wingers. Club needs to be less conservative with the English market and reform it's labours in Europe.
