Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think that KDH takes up the role Brownhill would, from what I’ve seen (limited though it is) they both seem like ball playing centre mids with an eye for assists and goals. I imagine we would have gone for Brownhill if we hadn’t got KDH over the line, but we got the better player so that’s done and dusted.

Any CM we sign now should (and I think will be) a more natural defensive midfielder, sitting deeper to shield the back four who will look to move the ball on to our more progressive players once won. Someone to rotate with and ultimately replace Ganga once those legs of his finally give out.

When you look at the glaring holes right throughout the team, I do find it baffling that we spent roughly £12 million on a premium loan.

Grealish at £12 million is very much cherry on the cake. But for me, there are much more pressing needs which required that investment.

If we had a strong DoF, I don’t think he’s sanctioning that loan fee, not when you look at our full back options.

Gana* obviously. Not Ganga. We can never hope to replace Ganga.

A state of terminal decline?? We were top 5 for form just 3 months ago

Are there negatives yes, of course, must we be reminded of them relentlessly whilst ignoring any positives though??

You are literally talking about relegation again after 1 game
No. I'm not. Read my f'in posts. I haven't mentioned relegation once this summer or since Moyes got on a run. Terminal decline is dropping from title contenders, to one of the biggest clubs, to European contenders, to nowhere near the big 6, to mid table, to circling the drain. To overall acceptance of achievement of being 'fine' to achieve nothing whatsoever, while a plethora of small clubs overtake us.

That is terminal decline and requires new attitudes and a bold new strategy. An upturn in form for half a season does not undo years of terminal decline. You are also not the arbiter of opinion on here. If people are unhappy, they have every right to express it on a forum without being belittled for it.

Will probably get pummeled for this but im sure a total of 50m (tops) buys Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho. Yes wages would be huge, but these guys would transform us as an attacking force. A CM and a fullback who can play either side (Maitland-Niles maybe) and we are surely a top 10 side?

Id rather buy proven premier league quality than waste nearly 50m on a promising but unproven teenager that no-one else seems interested in?

An interchangeable front 3 of Sterling, Ndjaye, Sancho with Grealish behind and KDH and a new CM behind them is completely transformational and all probably within budget.

Not sure why we overcomplicate things?

Yup we thought we got the cherry on the cake when in reality its a dollop of artificial whipped cream on a Rich tea:))

So just the £50m plus £500k a week in wages then. Excellent plan, can't see a single flaw.
