Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

No I want you to name me the players we've missed out on because our recruitment team isn't up to it. So name me those positions you've mentioned and the players we should of had in. I'll help. Right Back - Kenny Tete who we tried for but he wanted to stay at Fulham. Right Wing - Kubo and Fofana (neither wanted to join according to reports) 2 Central midfielders (Douglas Luiz - still available but clearly a difficult transfer as other clubs haven't signed him either) James McAtee (overpriced and rumour is of a buy back clause in his contract so if he does well at Forest he'll be back at the Sportwashers) Striker - No links for any as far as I know

Don’t be ridiculous, those are not the only players in world football we could’ve got for those positions. “Name some then bro” is also a totally rubbish argument, as it’s not my job that I’m being paid a handsome salary for. Every other club in the league seems to have managed to address their priority positions apart from us. That’s an Everton problem, not an everyone else problem.

Well that's just like, your opinion, man.

It's more likely than us signing Harrison for sure. We don't spend all summer targeting this position, only to not spend the 40m thats been burning a hole in our pocket, imo.

That’s also just based on blind faith though. It’s been 3 weeks since our last bid for Dibling, there’s no indication we are close to going back in for him, and there’s not even been a tenuous link to anyone else in the meantime. I think it’s far more likely we’ve reached the bottom of our very short list personally.

You're happy to suggest Brownhill though so I'm just interested to know who you think we should of signed who have gone elsewhere. I'll help again. Habib Diarra at Sunderland could be one that got away

Brownhill is so obvious because it’s staring us in the face and he’s a free agent who instantly improves both our starting XI and our squad as it stands currently, you don’t need to be an esteemed super scout to work that one out. But yes Diarra another obvious one, Ndoye at Forest and Ben Doak too.

Luiz to Forest almost done. Forest, a team who until very recently were in the league below are destroying us for transfers, and we sit still doing nothing having just been beaten by another side who were very recently in the league below. Recruitment at this club is absolutely disgusting and questions need to be asked by actual journalists and someone from the club (I suggest Angus) needs to front it up.

We probably won’t be a team out of position though
Agreed, there’s been some decent strengthening by some teams - most were better than us already tbh
Again, though you are ignoring that for most people the negativity comes from the concept of continually, and inexcusably, falling further behind, as opposed to fearing relegation.

This is a new start. In a new stadium. With new commercial revenue. If we don't move up towards the top half of the table, it would have been an abject failure, no matter how you try to spin it.
