Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Just backs up the point that, as much as things seem to change some things will always remain the same.

We are just really crap, have been for 4 years and Leeds were just better than us, if you think they are going down you'd have to fear for us too.

let’s see who’s above who in a few months, and fear for us going down

That theory about signing Grealish and it opening doors for other players to sign...

You can’t be serious can you?

We still need a right back, 2 right wingers, 2 central midfielders and arguably another striker, if that’s what you’re getting at.
No I want you to name me the players we've missed out on because our recruitment team isn't up to it. So name me those positions you've mentioned and the players we should of had in. I'll help. Right Back - Kenny Tete who we tried for but he wanted to stay at Fulham. Right Wing - Kubo and Fofana (neither wanted to join according to reports) 2 Central midfielders (Douglas Luiz - still available but clearly a difficult transfer as other clubs haven't signed him either) James McAtee (overpriced and rumour is of a buy back clause in his contract so if he does well at Forest he'll be back at the Sportwashers) Striker - No links for any as far as I know

I like Garner. We signed a left back and we have Dwight McNeil. He is left footed and played as a wingback before. Moyes chose to play Garner there which is now even more inexcusible because by doing so, to your point, he made the midfield worse.

Mate, this is our problem. Thinking that Dwight McNeil is a sufficient back up for Mykolenko, who is crap anyway! Dwight McNiel isn't an adequate back up for anybody wanting to reach the top half. Both of our fullback positions require some bloody investment, and not some ridiculous 10 million pound purchase of an ultra crap 12 year old that was so crap that he couldn't even get a game for Rangers!

Who the hell thought "Hey, have you seen this ultra crap right back that can't even get a game for Rangers? Lets spend 10 million on him"?

It's ridiculous and infuriating tbh!

If you think the back up rw and rb for this season aren't already at the club then yh I do think you're being unrealistic and naive. We need starters for those positions, hence why we're taking time to negotiate deals to make sure we bring in the best players we can for the money have to spend.

As for the negotiating position we're in, that's been the case all summer and is why we're in this position. First game of the season has nothing to do with it, Moyes saying we're desperate has nothing to do with it. As I said previously we've had no leverage all summer because everyone in football knows that we had about 10 senior players at the start of summer, and desperately needed to bring in players. Responsibility for that unfortunately falls on previous regime, people at the club now can only play the hand they've been dealt.
I would be curious what other fan bases would call it to start their first premier league match with a cm at lb, a cm at rw, and your backup cb at rb bc your starting center back got hurt and there are no other options. Also keep in mind if anyone on the back line got hurt during the match we would have also called on another cm to play.

Its a poorly built squad and The new recruitment team wasn’t dealt a great hand to play. But they have to play their hand. They arent and every other club in the world is calling their bluff. They called it an unprecedented rebuild. So im just curious why they are waiting until the last two weeks to do it

If I have one criticism of our recruitment department this summer it's the time spent chasing that deal.

A 5 minute Google search can give you enough information about his release clause and sell on to know that was never an option for us.
Thr whole recruitment team, in particular Kinnear and Hammond seem clueless and far worse than Thelwell who worked well within the previous constraints. Better to judge (sack) them this week than at the end of the window when we can do nothing about it, as there seems to be no positive action whatsoever and the clock is ticking down.
