It’s not the same at all though is it. There was hard evidence staring us in the face that we had no recruitment plan, it’s not the same as people flapping about Super Luton winning 4 on the bounce.

I never thought we would go down, but felt we would struggle.

The reality is though, under Thelwell and very difficult circumstances we finished 20 odd points clear of the relegation zone.

We have had money to spend, and not had to sell players. That we are still being viewed as relegation strugglers is a big concern to me.

Only by the lube-passing masochists who bend over and resolutely take it...hard from the club. Manly, you see. The really stoic ones don't even bother with the lube. Their eyes don't even water...

We have c. 12-13 days to recruit. That's not a lot of time given the key areas we need to address. We probably still need around 5/6 players, with three of those being first team starting quality (CM, RB and RW).

I wouldn't be surprised if we fail to do that and we need to have a big January window.

There's not a chance that 5-6 players are coming in now.

It'll be 2, 3 at most, so adjust your expectations accordingly.

I don't want to terrify people either, but I don't think we will be signing 3-4 players either. I don't think the penny has dropped for the CEO/Hammond. We could easily end up dragging Dibling to late in the window and just doing that.

It’s not that he’s not good enough but ask yourself this and you @davek, if he was readily available, why was it only Sunderland was interested in him and not say half a dozen teams in this league or mid level teams in France, Spain or Italy?
