The people that have “wet the bed” over the course of the transfer window have been proven right. It’s quite evident we had no strategy going into it, and it’s been scattergun and all over the place. We were told by happy clapping ostrich’s that it was all part of the master plan to wait to get our top targets in and it would all work out great, well look where we are now.

Not in May there wasn't. There was tournaments, players on holiday, new staff at Everton - it was defo a pathetic time to wet the bed.

Can’t fix 20 years of mismanagement in 1 window

Never said you could, but what you can do is make thd most of what you've got, we have started the season off terribly for the last 4 years. Apart from a couple of years we are notoriously bad starters, something has to change, is it the culture here, the training regime ? We've had countless different managers, last night we didn't look ready at all compared to Leeds, who swarmed all over us. This isn't a rant over signings it's more over being fit and ready for the new season.

We have c. 12-13 days to recruit. That's not a lot of time given the key areas we need to address. We probably still need around 5/6 players, with three of those being first team starting quality (CM, RB and RW).

I wouldn't be surprised if we fail to do that and we need to have a big January window.
