Not good enough for where we want to go. We already have a wide player who isn't a particularly good player but provides good delivery, in McNeil.

We do need a secondary option though. And if that option isn't going to be a kid, but instead a limited player, he should be fast. If you have some good players - which we now do - pace in of itself can change games.

McNeil is 100% good enough for the role he’s about to have in our squad. So is Fellows. How many right wingers actually want to play on the wing? It’s a profile any squad with two giant strikers needs.

If one CM is more attack minded and one centre mid is more defensively minded.

Where do you think they will spend most of their time? Youre using Keane and Scholes who were occupying different spaces to compare with KDH, Gana and Garner?

Do you not think this is why KDH was pushed further forwards vs Roma?

I do. Because when you watch the centre yes the positions on paper can become meaningless but over the course of a few games they will naturally operate in different spaces.

There lies the issue.

Any decent centre mid can see space and occupy it. Whether you’re left footed or right footed just doesn’t come into it. That’s analysing for the sake of it.

On Trincao, Sporting finally acquired the remaining 50% of his rights a couple of days ago.

So Sporting now fully own him.

If we were to go after a Portuguese player then my preference would be Rodrigo Mora, he looks special.

Depends where you want to be. McNeil is nowhere near good enough to be a player for a team wanting to get in the top half. I'm not opposed to Fellows coming in as a second choice right winger if we get a top quality one too. Although I think we should prioritise some pace in the second choice RW.

I do object to the idea of having McNeil and Fellows in the same team though.

I’ll be really surprised if we don’t complete Dibling mate, if we don’t we are revisiting our list and may have to go back and look at paying ++ for a Kubo or Fofana, I don’t want to consider what’s south of Dibling on our list.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we are squeezing as much as we can out of the Dibling deal so we can also do a back up.

Yeah I think the Dibling thing will get done eventually I agree, its getting a bit late to start focusing elsewhere now. Hopefully get tomorrow out of the way then hear something during the week.
