Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

If this window has shown us anything, it’s that we have failed to negotiate any deal which appears to be challenging.
As I noted in a previous exchange this is what Leeds fans say about Hammond. He sees his job as spending as little as possible in a deal. Because of this negotiations prolong and deals collapse. This is fair enough if you get enough done of good enough quality and stay within your budget but if it leaves you short in key areas or buying players you can at your price who are not good enough then it is a false economy. In two weeks we will have our answer on where he has landed.

Hopefully we just bring in Jack Harrison again. Don't want to be showing too much ambition...

I wonder if any remaining deals will be kept for deadline day?

Pay it or move on.

Id personally like to see the club close a challenging deal this summer.

Its easy option after easy option.

How have we improved the 2 areas of the team that we have players out of position in?

Would a Brazilian international right back have improved one of them back in Jan?

Its not the enigma code buddy.

Why do you keep going on about this player? does it not occur to you that maybe the previous regime rated him but the current one don't? He only ended up at Roma Zat which is hardly a groundbreaking move to one of Europes elites is it.
We have tried for a RW and they either don't want too play for a team not in Europe, don't want too play under a safety first manager like Moyes, or they are cautious due to our recent league placings. Dibling is being so over rated by you and and a few others on here, sure the kid has a few tricks but that's it atm. He wasn't even Saints best player last season. The package here being suggested is crazy not just on price but the ridiculous sell on fee, we are in danger of being massively had off here, its all ifs and buts and maybes with Dibling, thankfully it looks like we have moved on from it. There just isn't enough of an evidence pool to justify the deal imo.

This is mirroring the Isak situation in a way.

Players both wanting out, already know where they’d like to be, club valuations too far apart.

As the clock ticks, the margins close, its business.

Those that sound off, “just pay it”, clearly have zero financial acumen.

It’s a dance … usually carefully choreographed by agents & CEO’s.

A couple or three million is not an insignificant amount, it’s a lot of academy, infrastructure, U21’s etc etc cash flow.

It's not good at all for the club to get involved in these protracted and lengthy transfer negotiations that end up being played out in public.

It seems to me that any time we try and "flex our muscles" with another club and try to prise their biggest asset away, then the relative gap between us and them just isn't big enough and the selling club can just inflate the fee and generally draw things out and delay.

This is particularly the case with domestic clubs. It's no bother when we're trying to take players off Man City and Chelsea to lighten their squads.

So we either overpay or waste valuable time, or both. For a club like Soton too, it's like why would we sell to you and why would he go there.

For sure you won't know till you try and we might yet get Dibling but if we don't there is a chance we lose out not only on him but on someone else and that's where the big problem lies. This is less of an issue when you're buying from abroad and as such at the start of the summer I would have been wary from the off in getting into such protracted deals. You have to know your cut-off point and stick to it rigidly.

Read again mate

Ive read it thrice and then posted.

Name that Right back / Right Winger lol

Or dont :)

Moyes had better deliver results to hide his incompetence.

What amazing deal was he most known for at Leeds?

Why do i "keep going on about" Wesley?

Perhaps because he could have signed in Jan?

Moyes pulled the plug and has not got any right back in.

Youre seemingly saying that there is no good RW in the world that would sign for Everton/Moyes.

Theyve had since Jan to find a right hand pair. They should have had deals locked in pre window.

Failure.

Vardy in, with Chermiti out on loan, I’d bet my life on it.
No way he’ll stick with just Beto and Barry.

Grealish loan offer had been going on since May according to one of the podcasts i listen too.

City were only going to talk to certain clubs. And if Grealish made it clear, was Everton only, which makes sense for personal. And other clubs in the North West that city would loan too is limited. Took 3ish months to sort finances, Moyes would be nowhere near that part of transfers...

Myself believe, Southampton and the player have made it difficult by briefing media in trying to flush out any other interest.

Yet we spent £4mil on Travers.
£28mil on an unwanted KDH.

Kind of odd negotations there if were penny pinching.

You can’t judge that in one window. He could easily buy a load of players now that pad our squad and seemingly improve us in the short term but who hold us back in the long term.

Don't wish to be pedantic, but if Moyes DOES deliver results, then that would strongly argue that he's actually competent, rather than hiding incompetence, and the team as recruited for 25/26 is, in fact, good enough. Does depend on results, as you say, though.
