Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We're not a mess because of the current owners though. We are mess because of the last 2 owners. the new owners are being more prudent. Hopefully not to the point that we leave ourselves being gazumped.

Just chill and leave the fume for 2nd September.

I didn’t mention the owners did I? I don’t think they’ll be too happy with the performance of their revered recruitment team that relegated Leeds, just as Moyes isn’t. Big two weeks coming up for them, or Dan may be paying them a flying visit.

The rumour is we’re looking for a loan in centre midfield ans this is the issue with Moyes for me, he wants prem experience apparently. On a loan that make the pool of players available very small and quality low.
I hope him and the recruitment team surprise us in tbe last 2 weeks, but it’s worrying. We have 2 centre mids we can rely on, maybe 3 with KDH. But gana is 36. And garner is not good enough for me, What we thought was our 4th choice CB is actually our 3rd and will now play the first 6/7 games.
We’re so weak in some areas, injuries could killl our season, obviously still time. I don’t want to make it sound like a rant, but panic stations are setting in for me

I'll consider it a very good window if we get an additional three - RW RB DM.

It's far from ideal but if we get them in the last minute on Sept 1 then I'll be happy to take that.

They can just as easily end up with egg on their face though.

The summer hasn't been good enough as it is and they need something replicating 2013 with Lukaku, Barry, and McCarthy.

It's the final result that counts now and how we look on Sept. 2.

Think is right to fume becuase is a failure by the club to not be ready for the season. Still not fixing the pace and right side of the pitch, can still have a good window but hard not just getting angry at the club.
I just literally think there's no point in this whatsoever.

We're still really in need of a quality RW and have been for years at this point.. but otherwise we're in a healthier position now than we've been in for a while regardless. So is it really worth getting 'angry'?

Also with Branthwaite recent injury plight I think at this point , along with positions you mentioned we need a utility player at the back that could cover most defensive positions and possibly DM

I’m not stressed about right back at all if I’m honest, ive long accepted Jake is playing there this season.

Keane starts Monday in my opinion.

We might bring a Sibide type in there as cover, but I’ve no expectation beyond that this summer.
I want Jake at CB while Jarrad is out. Keane is ok for a few games but we could be talking 6/7 games. Also none of our right backs are good enough or actually right backs Jake is fine there but its not his position

Think it will be interesting also to see who could go mate.

We have 3 games before then Matty. We writing them off as usual?

It’s no wonder we are laughed at by our neighbours. Evertonians seem totally fine with failure while they demand success.
Nobody is writing anything off.
We already have a very decent team but we are short of squad numbers to get us through a full season.
Of course added to that is the fact that some supporters constantly criticise some of the players that are actually at the club.

Hopefully we are seeing the beginning of an Everton rebirth but anyone thinking it was going to happen in one summer is not living in the real world.

Our realistic expectations this summer is a top half finish , hopefully a cup run as well.

It is clear that we are no longer the club that players badly want to sign for. We have to build that reputation back again, it is why the signing of Grealish is important, the first real sign that a high quality player is prepared to join the club and sees a future for it.

You clearly don't believe the current team can win games , I disagree, but I think that we possibly have one signing left where we spend money, two at most and after that it will be loans imo.

In other words the vast majority of the players to get us through the season are already here.
