Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It does look like Everton are about to start yet another season with a depleted squad.

Why does this seem to happen every year?

New owners / New Managers / New Ground

Same situation!

You’re basically a coach in that role. Barely play, be available for target practice. Help set the tone. Mentor kids.
I’m not bothered about the salary but I think it’s now more than twiddling thumbs.
If you know you’re not good enough for a first team spot in either a PL or championship team what do you do
Go to league 1 or 2 for 2 or 3 k a week with crap facilities or go as 3rd choice to a PL team for 15-20 k a week , great facilities and good working conditions
Granted you’re only a coach or training partner but it’s nice work if you can get it

In an ideal world, all the deals will be done before the season starts, but unfortunately that's not how the world works for the majority of teams.

There is still two weeks left for transfers to be completed, and there will be more acquisitions.

Moyes presser today will lead to melt down with Branthwaite and Mykolenko out.

I doubt we'll be making any signings over the next few days and just concentrate on Leeds.

Next week, we have to make big decisions FAST and bring in a right back and right winger.

Think you are starting to see some clubs finally start spending, both forest and the barcodes seem to be throwing around multiple 30-45m bids and getting deals sorted, gonna be a bit of a knock on effect as well from this, Villa will have some room to do deals once Ramsay goes for example.

Be the most Everton thing ever to be clear of PSR, have the money available, have massive needs in the squad, and to think nah we will save the money this season as no value for money.

The market is quite clearly increasing year on year, that's the reality,

Frustrating tho
Of course it is, and rightly so. Looking at it objectively, however, it has to be expected for a team in our position both financially and competitively.

We do not have the financial flexibility of the major teams to spend big on players (fees, the terms and wages), nor do we have their pull to attract names.

This means we have to be astute with who we bring in and when, and this means we are at the mercy of other transfers going through first and whatnot.

We can grumble all we like, but it won't change anything; personally, I am trying to look at the positives (Barry, KDH, Grealish) and looking for more.

Year on year, as we progress on and off the pitch, we will start to be able to look at getting these deals sorted much sooner, even agreed the year ahead.

If we decide that Friday - Tuesday are days we can just waste then mate someone at the club needs firing.

Cruel reality is, if we want players in + we need player in, then the current short term ground is that we will need to overpay on some

No reason why we can’t sign players over the next few days ?
Unless Moyes has the only pen the club owns.

Lose to Leeds and there’ll be fountains of piss next week.

We’ll try to buy anything that moves to plug the gaps in the team.

The transfers dealings will continue because that's what the people behind the scenes will do. Moyes will focus on the game, and rightly so.
