Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

While it is terrible, it appears we have tried for 7 mainly high profile players for this position and either they will not come (not our fault) or, their club puts to high a value on them - again not our fault. If ANY of these criteria had been dropped in our favour then NO ONE would be moaning as we would have a quality RW.
As painful as it is, the club have tried to get high-bar right wingers which we all want but for reasons beyond their control - it aint happening (yet - it will).
Right wingers should be queuing up to join us... they have a guaranteed start every game! Like you say, I'm sure we will finally get someone in, but it is still a fail that we haven't had a specialist RW since Demarai Grey!

In fairness they managed to get KDH done in double quick time but it is strange that no matter who’s running the show our transfers always seem to take an age.

It’s the world we live in now where a lot of early information is out there. We look at it all in forensic detail for our club. We know from the second we’ve made a bid to tracking flights and pictures of players at training grounds etc.

It feels like an age but the reality is it’s no different from other clubs. Just some deals are slightly more secret than others.

Average ones, yes - Demarai Gray would be champing at the bit to come here. However, we aimed high, CL quality high in some cases and it hasnt pulled off. Would you rather Gray type RW or a Kubo type??

Sorry but that is our fault. You need to be attempting to sign achievable players

This is true. Some might say we aimed high with Grealish, and we got him, basically on the basis that he's going to play every game (even with our current best attacking player being a LW). I'm sure there's a few other big teams (like Citeh) who have right sided attacking players with an eye on the world cup. A half decent RW wing who wants to impress and get into their national side have a free run to impress at Everton.

Worth it if it comes off. But doesn’t look like the case. Much more likely we are signing a Gray than a Kubo after wasting so much time

How many years not just this season have we been asking for a r/b its not just a recent request and im not laying the blame on the new owners/manager its been a long time overdue for the club

All depends. I would much rather go the whole season with A right winger, than none at all.

Totally agree.. for once we've been aiming high with our signings. It's taken time for them to fall through or turn us down, so then we look at the next tier.. I'd rather it takes time than us just jumping straight back in at Jack Harrison level..

Are we still doing this yeah? We must wait until late in the window to secure our top targets. We’re down to like our 7th choice right now aren’t we? How many transfer windows have to go by before people realise this magical scenario of securing all your top targets at the end of August that they’ve invented in their head isn’t something that happens?
