Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Got to be two.

Then 2 loans.
Maybe. Just at a rough calculation, We've spent over £85m now, Grealish included, with nothing recouped. We still have money to spend given the Dibling bids, so I don't think we've finished yet. And I don't think there will be any sales this summer unless a mad bid comes in.

I've just been scarred from all the PSR stuff over the last few years- spending not far off £150m in one window is a massive outlay. I suppose selling the women's team and the massive amount of players out of contract left plenty of wiggle room.

Where do we stand with FFP? How much more can we spend?

Nobody really knows. However, from the ££s already handed over to get thr players we need including the RW being hr most expensive you'll feel, I see upwards of 70m still to be spent leaving us around the 150M mark in total,

Whether we have a sale or 2 to offset that will depend how successful the end of the window is for us. I dont see any sales purely down to our squad size, unless we end up in double digit signings territory.

For me there's answers I don't know like if the hill Dickinson sponsorship factors in to our ability to spend?

Go for Mcatee, another cm (luiz?) sort dibling or move on to the next rw (looks like they have) and sign a right back and we’re defo in business.

Wouldn’t mind another cb to expel Keane from the pool of options, but I’m being greedy there…

None of this nonsense of 4th choice for Keggers. As he has quite long strides he can line our the pitches, wont take him long at all, unless he stands there pointing at his arm for long periods.

Can’t see mcatee AND another winger coming in. I think that would be overkill for those positions behind the striker for now. I’d rather another striker come in if we were getting 2 attacking players, someone who offers something a bit different to the 2 we have who seem quite similar in a lot of ways.

Gut feeling tonight is Luiz will join Grealish here. That would be a hell of a window.

Night blues
Luiz is likely staying at Juventus. I was following Gianni Balzarini closely, who covers Juventus and passes along information from the club. I believe it was close, but then both Luiz's agent and Juventus made some ill-advised attempts to get more out of the deal. I think it dragged things out and likely cost Everton momentum and the ability to close other deals. Everton wisely backed off and signed KDH.

Juventus have mantained the pretense that Everton and Forest are locked in a battle for his signing, but the narrative has shifted from "Everton is in the lead and a deal is very close," to "Forest is in the lead and a deal is very close," to "a deal is very close — if one even happens at all," and finally to "You know what, guys? There's been a miraculous turnaround in his play, his attitude, and the manager's stance on his suitability to the system. Maybe we won't sell him, despite all the interest!"
