Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

This says we've left Dibling but then he writes this in the article:

"Everton have made it clear they won’t go that high and are now moving onto other targets.
Whether that is a tactic or not remains to be seen – and Everton’s interest remains – but they consider Southampton’s demands excessive"

They just know nothing.

You imagine our position is "we've signed Grealish. We aren't desperate any longer. We want him, but not at your valuation. If that changes, let us know".

This really. Pressure is off us a bit, we can afford to wait a bit in that position (which still does need addressing).

They know what we are saying (“off”), they are just not sure they believe it. It will take a bid elsewhere to convince them.

Personally I'm not sure Grealish, Dibling, and Ndiaye behind the striker would work all that well. They're all a little samey in that first and foremost they want to get on the ball and dribble with it, none of them really look to get in behind, go past their man on the outside etc. It might be an idea to have a slightly different type of player who gives a better balance.
Grealish can beat a man but its not really his game to constantly look to dribble the ball. Can imagine him having a free-ish role in the middle linking up with Ndiaye and whoever is on the right. He can create a chance out of nothing but equally keeps hold of the ball so well and keeps moves ticking under extreme pressure.

I think if Fofana goes elsewhere, they'll go back for Dibling but it'll be a late one.

But it's obvious we wanted a fair few before him - even Kubo. We could see if any late movement on him.
I really like the look of Dibling, but feel comfortable enough that if they're walking away now it's because they see better value elsewhere.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us go back in for earlier targets who would have been higher up the list in the first place.

If the alternative is to sign a worse player for only very slightly less money then not sure that's smart.
Think it's probably more likely the alternative is to look to sign an equivalent player or even slightly better, more ready made player for the same ball park fee without any sell on.

Dibling is a very promising player with a high ceiling no doubt but he is miles away from an established PL footballer as things presently stand and for £50 million you'd expect an oven ready player.

For less money you can still pick up young promising players who are at a similar stage in development ( Doak )or further advanced ( Fatawu) and that's the route that I would go down if Southampton refuse to reduce their valuation.
