Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I'd say, if anything, he's never been further away from the Everton scene.
Nah.

He'll still know every bit of news that's happening at that club and he'll still be part of the fold of people officially outside the club they know they can turn to in order to "explain things" to fans concerning failure to get deals done.

Myers is damaged goods Imo.

He's way too close to the Everton scene. I never trust anything he comes out with.

Won't argue with you - I mean;

Moshiri: "John, I need you to talk to this guy, Alan Myers"

That's a previous prospective owner, admitting the previous Everton owner told him to speak to Alan Myers for the clubs own agenda.

... But I don't think that piece, as you think is fantasy/part of any effort appease/manipulate fans towards Everton's internal agenda.

We're really trying to sign Grealish, a transfer I've personally expected to happen all summer - and that piece there from Myers is almost certainly a paid piece from a media agency.

I think ai on Google just surface reads aload of sites on the matter and creates a opinion based on the general consensus.

Which is good for factual stuff but for more niche subjects with varying opinions its fairly useless.

With regard to loans i was always of the mind that the loaning team did pay wages of the loanee but it was all paid in a lump sum before the loan starts. Thats why cancelling loans can be a bit of a hassle.
It's also not helped by the fact that AI overview is scraping info from the closest source to the top of googles search results, which are increasingly bought and paid to be at the top now that Google has such a focus on ad revenue. It's a truly useless tool half the time, but machine learning is where AI as a concept is extremely useful.

I say all this to say: Sign Grealish

If we're really in for him then great. But we cant be queuing for him and hoping he falls into place and seeing what cash we have left over when we have numerous other positions to fill.

As for Myers: I doubt he'll let his work for a media outlet get in the way of spinning for Everton. That media company just want clicks and they know Myers gets them. It's no guarantee of independence from the Everton-line.

Indeed, but don't think it's placed/motivated by it was my point.

Alan upping his game to compete with Elton Welsby?

*prepares an offer to get Welsby exclusives for the site.

** second hand jigsaw. 2 pieces missing.

Judging by the recycled stuff he's been coming out with, he's basically scraping the Internet for stuff that has already been said, then sprinkling mystery in there like 'so I've been told' or 'this is what I'm hearing' - He knows nothing and will not go against the grain of what's already out there. He is basically on a par with Toffee Transfers right now, trying to stay relevant.

Grealish - I think it's fantasy stuff...and not in a good way.

We've been to this rodeo way too many times where the club are 'apparently' doing deals for big name players only for it to 'slip away'.

To me this is just a time wasting exercise designed to hoodwink fans. And I think most fans deep down believe that too.

The first rule of supporting Everton is 'Never believe the club'. They're 'kin liars.

So “ fantasy stuff “ but “ not in a good way”

So even your fantasies are negative ?
