Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I'd be surprised if we get two in before Leeds the rate of knots we're going at. I think we'll get them by September 1st but who knows if they'll be the requisite quality.

I'd say Grealish in this week and that's it. And I'd be surprised if he's thrown straight Into the team without much pre season. Cue much teeth gnashing 👍
Grealish - I think it's fantasy stuff...and not in a good way.

We've been to this rodeo way too many times where the club are 'apparently' doing deals for big name players only for it to 'slip away'.

To me this is just a time wasting exercise designed to hoodwink fans. And I think most fans deep down believe that too.

The first rule of supporting Everton is 'Never believe the club'. They're 'kin liars.

okay mate take it to twitter

... well they totally screwed they up didn't they?

Gyokeres' value tripled within a season, Beto would struggle to sell for half of what was paid for him.

We couldn't afford him, nor did he want to sign for point deduction circus FC.

Beto was available for literally £0 upfront, and we inevitably paid a premium for that. He signed 3 games into a season with us bottom of the league after we hadn't scored a goal. We'd only been able to sign Ashley Young, and Danjuma and Harrison on loan. It wasnt a case of recruitment deciding to lash £30m on Beto instead of Gyokeres.

Recruitment the last 3-5 years has been really hindered by that reality.

Seems at this stage that we might have a little more cash to play with than expected earlier in the summer but the proof of that will be in how many more we get in.

I wouldn't have thought at all that with needing up to 10 players, we would have the resources to allocate funds for what would have been / will be a near club record fee for Dibling and have an expensive loan for Grealish on top, and added to the existing outlay with plenty more needed.

Even if those were done, we need RB, RW, and DM as a minimum. I'd like another striker too but I don't think they'll get one but we do need those other positions filled.

Felt all along that we might get up to 4 loans, so be interesting to see what pans out.

I'm sure you'll allocate sufficient praise if they get a "fantasy" signing over the line?
