The race to write off youngsters

i don’t think it’s writing Aznou off to say he doesn’t look ready to start next week. He didn’t get forward much and got turned around quite a bit. Some of that can be mitigated before the next match. His physical strength won’t. He’ll get better but it won’t be in time for the next match.

I think Barry is just as advertised, very talented and very raw. He’s 22 and he’s 6’5”. Typically someone of his size up front will take more time (Haaland would be an obvious exception). He’ll get better, I think he’s too fast and strong not to. He also plays with a bit of an edge which is good to see.

Grown men shouting at teenagers about positional sense and poor touch whilst swilling their beer with their gut hanging out the bottom of their tshirt. Then home to twitter/X to hurl some personal abuse at them and their family members. What a world.

Appreciate that part probably isn't just unique to our fanbase. Just grow up though lads and do some fulfilling things with your own lives so you aren't so angry.

Loving the gut comment but your post works when it's old knackers shouting at a young lad trying tricks and flicks. Barry and Anzou showed little if anything yesterday. Okay latter is meant to be one for the future but expected more from Barry in an area in which we are so weak. Hopefully a million miles off and he plays a competitive game with a new approach.

I went to see a young Howard Kendall on debut at Goodison- he had a mare of a game missed a sitter- fans were groaning to think we sold the great Jimmy Gabriel for him .?.
How wrong they all were a brilliant dynamic midfielder he turned out to be & Manager first time along with the great CH - who also struggled to settle into the team !

Why? Whilst there's some reasonable support for players like Aznou and Barry, there's plenty of negativity after they've not played more than a couple of games between them.

What happened to giving players the chance to develop and make a few mistakes during the learning process? Its not just these 2 but it's happened with plenty of young players in recent memory. I suspect Armstrong will be built up and then get pelters if he has a couple of poor games.

It'd be nice to see a few more support our players and embrace the positivity that the new owners and stadium brings to give the club a lift as a whole, the continual negativity makes us live up to the bitters name.

I know it's a crazy notion but maybe see how they get on over more than a few minutes, new country/league/language at young ages and serious expectation, least we can do is give them one less thing to worry about each weekend by not giving a load of abuse. Let's leave that behind at Goodison.
It's all gone downhill since Barry hit Barkley with the Achilles Chop in training

Barry is fairly a seasoned pro. Scored goals in multiple leagues and isn't remotely in the same group as Aznou.

We paid a decent amount for money for Barry so lets hope we know how to get the best out of him. He is a decent player already, I don't want to hear this talk about him taking time to settle in because of his age etc, we need him to be ready and contributing straight away.

Aznou is a fairly cheap project with potential. Barry is (or should be) our first choice striker.

The race to write off Grealish is gathering pace

I personally think it will be an expensive mistake.

Pep wants rid for a reason. We have done this dance a few times over the years and it never works out.

We will have some good moments but will he be worth the wages?? is it worth breaking our wage structure for him??

For me its a no. Gut feeling is it will all end in tears.

Should be players like Dibling we go after.

Please talk dirty to me. That's SO hot!

It's a gamble of sorts. But he's an exceptional talent. Let's hope it works out. But yeah it rarely does with us. 😂

Ketchup from his burger glistened as it nestled between the folds of his chins, sweat from the walk back to his seat rolled down his face, three quarters of his arse on his seat and the rest overlapping the seat next to him.... the rest is only available through my subscription service.
