The jury’s out on this signing to me as we needed a back up left back, but he feels more like someone who needs to go out on loan for a couple of years, develop and fill out a bit, rather than someone ready to step in when needed. It’s great to sign potential, but trickier when we’re so desperate for players who can contribute right now and don’t have an unlimited budget.

We need a first choice left back to push our current starter to the back-up role.

But we have have more pressing priorities this window elsewhere in the squad so the young with potential back up will have to do.

Well I was going to say a back up or a new first choice left back, but compared to the right sided options I’m not sure a new first choice anything down the left is or was a task for this window.

This. Its amazing how people want to jump in to defend him like he's being attacked. He isnt. He's the sort of signing that would have gone to many other clubs and not seen much of as he bedded in. Unfortunately Everton have had this phobia in the last few years regarding fullbacks where we've barely got one recognised fullback on either side. Its been a massive failure by the clubs recruitment. This kid may have no choice but to be thrown in when he shouldnt be because we had no ready to go back up.

You say phobia, but do you mean financial issue? Are you talking about Everton?

No, we've signed players in that time and not addressed it. Even going back before thelwell. We're still playing a centre back at right back. As good as he does. He's still a centre back.

As much as he might not be fully ready just yet and I’d obviously never wish Myko picked up the injury this chance will be great for his development. It’s going to be a real baptism of fire for the lad and a chance to try and get to grips with the league very quickly. Good luck Adam

Really wanted him to whip a cross in but kept playing it safe. Thought he made some good tackles and blocks once he settled in. Pathetic people writing him off already ffs

I dont think we'll start to see the new signings adapt until December
