Very difficult to judge Barry yet. From what I've seen he doesn't have much skill or knowledge of how to lose his marker. But what I don't know is his mental capacity to be up for the fight. Will he get disheartened quickly and give up and start missing an arm around him.

Needed to just bury that chance that KDH laid off to him in the first half. Thought he did some good stuff at times, including that little shift inside onto Ndiaye who really should've scored himself..

Got a bit about him, just needs to make sure he gets himself right into the mix this season.

First thought then was KDH didnt release it quick enough and Barry slowed/paused which meant the pass then ended up on his left foot.

Havent seen it back.

Honestly this result could have easily gone the other way if we finished our chances. All Barry need to do is hit that on target and there is a 50/50 it is a goal from that close. Ndiaye converts on his pass and that is another. Barry created chances which is promising. We have to start converting those into goals though. It was our weakness last year. Barry has looked solid as a creator at least which is a good sign. He has created two very good chances so far in preseason. Get a Dibling in to pair with Ndiaye and see if we can start causing problems with those 3.

I thought he looked good today. He puts himself about, and seemed to be more in the game than Beto was second half. I felt like we went completely flat once Barry and KDH went off.

You think Liverpool fans are saying that about Wirtz? Guess what - same age as Barry.

Our bar has become so low now we look for excuses to give players more grace than they deserve. He should be hitting the ground running in a friendly against an Italian team. He is one of our most expensive signings in our history - expect more.
£30m on a striker is peanuts. He's had a different career trajectory than Wirtz who cosy £125m.

That was his best performance for us. Remember how bad Fellaini looked early on and he became a very good player for us. He's definitely got a higher ceiling than Beto. The premier league will be a big step up in terms of physicality and intensity for him. He'll probably struggle at first but I think he'll do ok for us.
