All well and good saying he's a young lad. He'll learn etc. Nobodys having a pop at him. We've a game in a week where its not a friendly anymore. Its points on the board time and i wouldnt throw him in to red hot elland road right now from what ive seen. So we're again unprepared. We've no left back.

He was fine until say 60th minute.

Hes played in that US tournament and is probably unfit as weve signed him without him having a break.

Meant to be top notch at dribbling and very fast which we didnt really see today. Stopped their player on a rapid break and seemed ok to me, though 2nd half could be inexperience, tiredness or just not able to deal with the top class Soule.

Hopefully he steps up and does well for us.

He’s young but he has all the markings of getting there over time. I thought he was more than suitable coming on for Myko. Now, when he gets pressed by the likes of Salah, I’m not taking my chances quite yet with him.

Some folk don't cut it as fans.
To that point, we have to be more fair in our assessments and less absolute and hyperbolic. No one on any team, even the slick 6, play above reproach for 90 minutes. Adam walked on to a big stage and stepped up as a young man and performed. He’s our player. Sometimes as fans our expectations and criticisms are at a standard no one could ever possibly meet. Let’s back the lad. He far from sucked. Seriously. We must be watching two different matches.

He’ll make mistakes sure, but probably less than Keane at CB would but people don’t seem to mind those. I’d rather just throw him in, no better way to get to the required level than by playing. We’ve bought him to play in our first team so no time like the present. If the lad has anything about him he’ll step up. God forbid a winger with an ounce of intelligence might protect him a bit, a centre mid might cover his runs forward, and Branthwaite could help him through the game. Is that too much to ask or will they all just allow him to be stood up one v one multiple times.
