Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I hope Antonio isn’t driving over 200 miles to Finch farm every day

Heading up the M6 as we speak.

Gotta say I’m pretty pleased with the window so far. Got rid of a load of driftwood and some pretty decent players in so far. Add a couple more and reckon it’s been the best window since Bobby brown shoes first one
Same mate.

So far we've done everything I would have wanted us to do by August.

Cut a load of players on big wages who hadn't showed anything, secured our best player to a long term contract, with some good additions with technical ability and a few irons in the fire with some bigger marquee deals. The latter can't be rushed, but it's exciting to see our name linked to some quality players in the gossip columns. Confident that we'll sign 2-3 more in the next few weeks, with maybe a couple of late ones pushed through end of August

Bar keeping Keane on I can't fault it

Grealish deal will take some time to negotiate as the money is crucial to both sides; he wants the move and he's not wanted there.

£15mp/a salary and a book value of £20m/£25m, so it all depends how much City are happy to wear to get him out of the club for 12 months.

Doubt we'll want to pull the trigger until the last minute to minimise our costs. Not great sense to pay for someone on loan when we're not playing football.

Dibling will happen shortly. The fact that he's not in the squad this weekend is huge; Southampton's position is diminishing despite the fluff the have Ornstein putting out there.

No way will we pay 50 million & their sell on clause ..

I know we won't.

Seen a little bit of confusion in regard to sell on clauses in a couple of posts here. If it's a 25% clause, then the selling club get a quarter of any profit/uplift from the next transfer; not 25% of any future transfer fee.

So if we buy someone for £50m with a 25% clause, then sell him two years later for £100m. The clause will equate to 25% of the £50m profit (£12.5m) going to the selling club.

I get that and can understand what level a number 3 striker that would come in, just feel is a massive risk with antonio with it such a serious injury.

Agree can leave the rb position late in the window because have a player like obrien, but is a position we must try get somebody in. Rw should have been done earlier, i cant really accept what the club have done even becuase the market has been tough.

Rigg is a different option in no need to sell him this season,
They need to fund Dom’s wages and health care policy somehow

….but if we sell him for £15m they won’t give us a penny back.
