This is a post with personal knowledge. Paul Joyce is an old school Kopite who respects Everton, Evertonians and the rivalry. He has covered Everton for decades and is well liked and respected within the club. David Moyes is close to him. Every word in his podcast and article will have been cleared with Everton. Whether that is negotiation positioning in response to the Saints CEO/DoF comments on Dibling and City leaked Grealish loan £ demands or just a simple statement of fact time will tell. The one thing it is not is some vendetta against Everton. Take off the tin foil hats.

The amount we will end up paying for Barry will be at his asking price anyway because I read that the add ons are supposed to be easily achievable.

As for KDH, he signed for Chelsea last year for £30m on a 5 year deal so his value is £25m to Chelsea this summer so they have broken even on a player that never seemed to fit their criteria to begin with

KDH was a 6 year deal at Chelsea. They don't seem to do much less these days Amortisation is still only allowed over 5 years though , so they may have lost a small amount on the inital deal with loyalty bonuses etc l but will likely make it back with the add ons later.
