Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Listented to the Everton bit of the Times podcast with Joyce that he just tweeted out. He is of the opinion that it is unlikely Everton go after Dibling any further because they can't afford to go any higher and Southampton won't go any lower, while Grealish seems really difficult and there's no guarantee he would even want to move to Everton. He also didn't put forward any alternatives for those or any other positions.

I'm loathe to put too much stock into any one journalist's views, but jeez. Another week down, and where are we?

No journalist had a whiff of KDH until it was the day before it was done. They know nothing apart from what they are briefed, which seems to be very little by Everton.

I’ve said it before but the best selling news story after a positive Liverpool one is a negative Everton one as it draws the same crowd. It’s easy engagement for Joyce Ornstein Sky to dress a story up as it’s all not looking good for Everton and they’ll have a million kopites piling in to read or listen to it.

Joycey pouring a dose reality on the Dibling & Grealish transfer.

Saints do need to come down on their price or will have an unhappy player in the championship with depreciating value and unwilling to renew his contract. We’re still in talks but it’s now a poker stage.

Grealish is interested in us otherwise those links for the past two months would’ve died off via agents etc.

As per last few weeks I’m sure more new names links will surface around 5pm when TheTimes / Telegraph / Guardian drop their latest post on Everton.

Grealish was always going to be difficult, but the signs are that there's a deal to be done.

With Dibling the club should know by now whether or not there's a deal to be done. If so, we should close it out quickly now. If not, there are other fish in the sea.

. . . but the sea freezes over in 3 weeks. 🤷‍♂️

Classic Everton stunt to deceive fans that there's a glut of players coming in to get on top of criticism: throwing in fantasy bids in for players we have no real expectation of buying / getting on loan.

Why did people expect better?

Going into the first full capacity game at Bramley Moore with no recognised RW is a genuine failure, it's looking likely we'll even start the season without one as well. How have the recruitment team allowed this to happen, it's ridiculous.
McNeil is a ‘recognised’ RW. It’s not like putting Coleman at LB because of injuries. Obvious that we need 1/2 RW but we do have one who has played a load of games there.

I think the RB situation is even worse.

If Branthwaite is unfit it means we are going into this “new era” with calamity Keane starting at centre half.

The whole recruitment team and Moyes should be embarrassed that they have let that happen.

We need a RIGHT WINGER .. We’ll get ONE!

I think the business we have completed is good, but the failure to not bring in a RW or RB before the Roma game is a big problem. The deadline before the first game is running out. Even if we sign a RW between Roma and the Leeds game it's extremely unlikely that they will play. We need this addressed ASAP.

If the situation was as Joyce described there surely Dibling would be getting ready for their opening game tomorrow and not lightly jogging round a running track.

It can’t be nearly as dead as he thinks.
